Spoiled idiot fan: But it was only in the 3rd inning, lets see him do it in the bottom of the ninth of Hoyt Wilhelm. He shouldn't have been trying to hit a homerun anyway. for 250 million he should have gotten #450 at a younger age ect ect ect   Go A-Rod! |

Well, he should've. Like how about yesterday, when he was a day younger. We could've used it then. He sucks! Let's go Nick Green! |

Congrats on both. They're two great feats, no dought(tm). Now keep it up and shore up that D! To gain a little perspective on how young A-Rod and Jeter were when they got their 2000th hits, future Hall of Famer Mike Piazza just got his tonight, and he's at the end of the line. |

A-Rod is a power hitter and to have 2000 hits at such a young age is an incredible accomplishment. How can you boo somebody like that? How many catchers have over 2000 hits? Piazza was a great hitter for a catcher. Catchers don’t run well and don’t get too many infield hits and their offense starts to diminish as they get beat up during the season. |

I didn't knock Piazza. I've always liked Piazza's offensive game going back to his rookie season. That was intended for those who knock Jeter for not hitting .340 every season or don't realize how incredible an accomplishment A-Rod achieved last night, this year's struggles notwithstanding. You get it. I didn't need to point it out to you. Piazza is going to finish around .308, 450 HRs, 1500 RBI, depending on how long he decides to play. I'd never knock that, catcher or not, but being a catcher is what makes it even more impressive. I get it too. |
