Actually I believe he said Dr. Hershon, so that could be better news. It's another setback, but then Murti was on and said it was his triceps that has some soreness. This is why I told YB not to count his chickens before they hatch! This is a serious surgery he's coming back from. I wish it were back in the day when we didn't know every detail. It's a tease when you hear a week or two, so I gave up expecting it after the last setback, and when he comes back, he comes back. |

I'm going to go out on a limb and say we will see Pavano on a mound for us before we see Dotel. |

I believe Torre said something to the effect of, he didn't have a good day and we're sending him to see Dr. Andrews again. Might have to listen to the part of the recording. |

I was being sarcastic, but my point of that was that you aren't going to see EITHER of them this year. |

No, he said Dr. Hershon, and then Kim Jones said the same thing. |

Dr. Hershon is just the team physician, the dude in the team photo every year. If he sees something bad, then I can see him sending Dotel to Dr. Andrews, but it could just be precautionary when you go see Dr. Hershon in NY. |

It takes time to build up arm strength after TJ surgery and at this point you don’t know if Dotel will ever get back his velocity. I was surprised they were talking about bringing him back to the majors so soon. I would have thought that they would take it slow and give him more time to pitch regularly in no pressure situations. I thought they would bring him up for the September stretch drive. |

I can see Dotel being like Karsay. They'll call him up in September and Torre will never let him pitch! |

:please: I wasn't counting on Dotel. (Although of course I was hopeful he would return, I specifically said "we don't know what we'll get from him and unfortunately we do know what we'll get from farnsworth"). In that very post, I said I wanted to get Mike Gonzalez from pittsburg to setup, remember? :smirk: |

I think the Gonzalez thing was after the Dotel conversation, no? Anyway, you get the point. You just like your silly hand smiley. |

Sweet. I still don't believe Phillips that he's on the block. It's more likely an old fart like Gordon is the way to go. |

Getting another arm in the pen is almost as important as another bat. A deal with the Cubs for Jacque Jones and Scott Williamson would satisfy me. |

What???Did he get a groundskeeping job or something, cause thats about the only way he'll ever see the mound at the stadium again! |

Jack Nicholson now, or 1974? I mean, Scott Williamson now, or 1999? |

Mr. Mattingly, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. Check what I said anyway. Williamson's numbers as a whole this year are decent but June and July have been atrocious. Just get me Mench and another reliever then. I'm easy to please. |

I broke out that line in the "What the feck Mo?" thread the other day. It's good things.
I know, I saw him recently, and was less than impressed, to say the least. |

A solid portion of my life is dominated by Billy Madison quotes. Couple of guys at school took buisness ethics, and none of us could say it without doing it the Billy Madison way during the academic decathalon. My mom however does not appreciate me yelling "Where's my snackpack!" |

Remember how I said going to Dr. Hershon could be precautionary, a lot moreso than going down to Alabama to see Dr. Andrews? Once Amit posts the minor league scores, why don't you all peruse the Staten Island boxscore? |

Oh yeah, duh. I have been reading this whole thread and been annoyed about it without even realizing he pitched today. It was an early game though, when did all this doctor stuff come out? |

Joe had his usual 5:05pm spot with Francesa and mentioned it. It's possible he hadn't heard the results yet, even though the appointment was probably over, and Dotel was on his way to SI. What time was the game? |

Pretty sure I read the Box score mid afternoon before the game. I thought it was weird that he went down a level to staten island, but it could have to do with the location of this doctor if it happened afterwards. I'll check the actual time of the game. |
