If I went to Buffalo, I would've appeared on that list.

Maybe if they hadn't rejected you. Yeah, if I had went to Harvard I'd be in the top 5, what's the point?

You'd be going to Indianus if Illinois didn't call you in the 11th hour.

That's not actually how it went down. I was using Indiana as leverage to try to coax a better scholarship offer from Illinois.

Either way, you'd have a great time. I have friends who went to Indiana and loved it, plus I have heard great things about Illinois.

He must be thinking of some other SUNY school where only the elite get accepted.

Indiana is a nice place, but I'm glad I didn't have to go there since I always wanted to go to Illinois. The campus at Indiana is great, but as far as academics are concerned Illinois is superior.

I remember reading that Indiana was the best party school in the nation.

Somehow SUNY Albany is near the top of the charts these days, if not the highest. I just threw them on my SUNY application for shits and giggles, and didn't even spend a night, nor tour the campus. I just drove by. A good friend of mine who went there had a great time, but I don't think it was as high up on the list at the time. It's easy to have a good time though. I had a blast in a college town with 5 bars and crappy frat houses. I might have been in trouble if I went to more of a party school. I had one to visit in Oswego anytime I wanted though, plus my sister went to Cortland, and that was fun.

Cool. Enjoy and congrats on getting into the school of your dreams.

I heard it was Boston College. Or maybe it was BU.

Back in my day, it was neck and neck with Geneseo, and it still is. I just liked Geneseo a lot more. I'm in guidance now, so I have a "SUNY Admissions Information Summary - 2005" in front of me right now.

Geneseo:

SAT: 1220-1350
ACT: 26-29
HS GPA: 91-96

-----

Binghamton:

SAT: 1190-1340
ACT: 25-29
HS GPA: 90-95

There's nothing around Geneseo either, but it's a nice campus, and there's a college town. I didn't like the feel at Binghamton.

As someone who has been on the campuses(campi?) of both UMD and Bing you certainly chose the right one. There is nothing near Binghamton except a small drag of crappy bars. The wings at "Cluck U" instantly makes it the better of the two anyway

Yeah, I have been to both too. It's not even close. Maryland blows it away. I took a work-related course at College Park and really liked the campus. My dad loved Binghamton and pushed me to go there, although I think it's because it was a little over two hours closer to home (almost 150 miles) than Geneseo. Anytime they came up to help me bring everything up or down for the beginning and end of the school year, he'd point out how much closer Binghamton was as we passed it. I made the drive so many more times than they did though. It sucked and I hated it every single time, but it was worth it. Nine years later, he sometimes still says I should have gone to Binghamton, even though I am happy with the decision I made, and it's been almost a decade since he had to make the drive. What a weirdo!

I'm sure you saw me knocking the upstate food the other day in that discussion with Vinnie, but if there's anything they do well, it's cook buffalo wings. I'm sure you can figure out why!
