Not easy to defend him right now, but I'm gonna try. :peace:

I'm not trying to kid myself - the guy has been utter dogsh1t. However, he's better than this.

Maybe it's time for Joe to knock him back a step in the pecking order? Make Proctor the #1 setup guy for a little while?

Hopefully this would take some of the pressure off him, while he works out whatever the fu<k is wrong with him.

Make no mistake* - we're going to need Farnsworth if we expect to win anything this year.

I love being right. I said this about Farnsworth before he got here. "He's good, but not as your No. 2 reliever. I wouldn't want him any higher than 3rd or 4th on the bullpen depth chart."

And nay on Proctor. He's got disaster potential and I trust him even less than I do Kyle. You either keep it as is - or go to Villone more - and hope that he fixes himself or catches a hotstreak, or you make a trade for a reliable reliever. And don't even think about Dotel. Who the f*ck comes off Tommy John, doesn't pitch for a year+ and then is ready to step in and be the Yankees setup man in a tight division race against Boston? All that and he's a guy who has wilted under pressure. He sucked as a closer. And setup man in New York, on this team, is the equivalent of closer in Oakland and H-Town.

This team needs to trade for a strong No. 2 or 3 starter (cuz f*ck Johnson and Wang has still given me zero reason to have any confidence in him), a trustworthy reliever with good stuff, and a quality outfielder. Posada won't finish this season hitting .307. If it's all A-Rod, Jeter and Giambi, there's gonna be some cranky nights for you mo'f*ckaz when the slumps come.

I pretty much agree with you Strider, except I think we haven't seen enough of Proctor to properly judge him yet, though I think he can become a solid middle relief guy, and for Jorge to hit over .300 at this point in his career would be a miracle.......but I'll gladly take anything above .280 and be happy for his season at the plate, as long as he keeps getting some important hits. He's been pretty damn good so far this season, for an over the hill catcher!
