There's several speeds of DSL. Just don't go with the slowest. I have the one just below the fiberoptics since they were still installing them in my neighborhood, and I haven't noticed a slowdown from Optimum Online, which I had at my old place. |

DSL is slower then cable...easily, just to let you know. I know that much. DSL is still decently fast though. |

The greatest DSL speed is better than Cable, but it'll cost you like $90 bucks a month, so it's not worth it. Get Cable. |

If you're looking to avoid cable though, DSL is a viable option. I was worried about it being worse, but there is no cable in the house I live in, so I just went with the DSL to save some money. I've been fine with it, and once I upgrade to the fiberoptics, it will be better than ever, all without having to pay a cent to the Dolans. |

Standard DSL is 1.5 MBPS you can probably get that for around 24.95-34.95 per month in most areas. Most phone companies have DSL at 3.0 and 6.0 as well, that is more money of course. Your standard cable is usually around 5.0 MBPS and is usually around 41.95 a month or so. I'd go with cable, much more reliable. |

Not that I believe it, but 100 MBPS on the ethernet. And Optimum f*cks with you sometimes. Every few weeks, it'll just go out for a couple minutes. The first time I thought it was on purpose because they have "gifts" with subscription but they say you've gotta have it plugged in for like 40 straight days. When it messes up, after the service comes back, you wind up having to unplug it to reset. But it's happened several times since. |

The fastest cable is Optimum Online Boost up to 30Mbps. Standard Optimum online is up to 15Mbps. Normally your speed is limited by the download bandwidth of the web site so you’ll never see those speeds. |
