Can you realistically move A-Rod?

Lot of demanding to get A-Rod out of New York and I've started to join in. You could throw whatever stats out that prove otherwise, Rodriguez seems to be the only one who doesn't think he fails too often in the clutch. But is there a scenario out there where it works? Between his salary and the bottom line of trading someone who is considered a top 5 talent can anyone come up with a realistic option where although unlikely it even warrants considering?

No. The Yanks just need to find out where Dad-Rod lives.

I'd need an absolute Hudson/Santana/Halladay type of Ace in return.

Remember - we pay a bit less than 17 of his 25 million.

BTW - I'm not worried about ARod. The big hits will come.

The rotation scares me, as usual.

We've been saying that since 2004.

A-Rod's contract is tradable since it only averages $16 million a year through 2010. Several teams can take that on if there was salary coming back to the Yankees. That said, not only am I jumping on that bandwagon anytime soon, I'd need one of those aces that cmnyy mentioned. By the way, he has a no-trade clause, so he'd have to be ok with it.

I wouldn't trade him for Hudson, for sure. He's on my fantasy team and has been "ehh" until his last couple starts. In the National League. With the Braves. And I'm not positive I'd do it for Santana or Halladay either. When it's all over, A-Rod might be considered the greatest player ever. He's good for 160 games every year and though he's up & down and has flaws, is a top 3-5 offensive force. And he's capable of Gold Glove defense at 3B and SS. All-in-all (games played + RBI + stolen bases + runs scored + fielding), he'll contribute directly to more wins than an ace pitcher will - if there's such a thing for the Yankees. There's a reason he won MVP and Bartolo had to settle for the Cy Young. He's not someone they can replace and, to quote myself, "f*ck what the totals tell you, this team needs all its pieces on offense."

I know young No. 1 and 2 starters are getting locked up, but an A-Rod doesn't come around too often.

ARod just might be considered on of the greatest players ever.

However, and Ace will win you more championships.

If I'm starting a team with the ability to pick any player in baseball first, my first few picks will be starting pitchers.
