As an angry George Steinbrenner put it as he left the Stadium in the top of the eighth inning: "I'm upset at a lot of them." Then The Boss, who left at a time when all the non-Sox fans were going or were already gone, singled out a culprit who particularly irked him, snapping, "The third baseman!"

George will not tolerate this sh*t. He was co-op'd by Cashman and the NY crew into giving up power. He's not happy.

Dude can't make the big play, but lets be real for a minute. If Randy Johnson had a pair of balls he gets out of that inning with minimal damage. That old, washed up, piece of sh*t is as much to blame as anybody.

Believe, I've had it with seeing this team make stupid errors, at stupid times, and it's not just A-Rod, other guys do it too, but what's worse is our pitchers, NEVER pick them up afterwards. It's pathetic to be honest. Great pitchers pick up their teammates after a mess, these guys are not great pitchers, they're a bunch of f*cking losers. Why is nobody calling out RJ on last night's PATHETIC performance? He gets as much of the blame or more than anybody, period. You have to make pitches and the guy has no clue how to do so anymore.

3 of those 4 years we won over 100 games, won a pennant and came within 3 outs from winning another one. There is no formula in making the 1996-2001 Yankees. That was just a special group of guys that came together and kicked ass.

While I agree with you, there were alot of questionable moves that were covered up by seemingly unlimited funds. You can win 100 games without spending 200 million dollars. The farm system has been trash because of these guys, making it impossible to make key trades. I'm not saying the team has been a disaster, but its been made pretty clear that Tampa doesn't know what they are doing.

You're absolutely right BUT did you ever think that as good as he WAS (big emphasis on was) that the Big Eunich just doesn't have it anymore? We got him after he'd been rode around the block too many times

In 2004 he was comming off one of his better years statisticly. Now he's the left handed Kevin Brown. I hope it's not age and injuries.

Awesome analogy. Problem is we're stuck with him. I thought right from the beginning it was a mistake to pick him up. Yeah, last year was last year, but it was ONE year, now we're stuck with an aging goat for our "ace". And to be honest, last year for RJ was nothing stellar in comparison to the rest of his career. Whatever..I just wish the powers that be would get thier heads out of their collective asses and concentrate on getting us some pitching..seriously...it's been said a million times but it's still frustrating as phvck.

Hmm...Zito could be good...at least he's coming from the AL...but I worry if his "big" years are past him...2002 was huge. I know he's young, but since 2002 he hasn't put up those numbers. Plus, I always felt that coming from West to the East is a bigger adjustment. I dunno. Then again...anythings better than the mess we have on our hands now.

I would like to agree with those statements, MM, in particular preferring Mulder here, but thinking he will stand pat.

Obviously he's not what he was. That said it doesn't change my point. A-Rod is a good third baseman, Jeter is a good shortstop, Cano is a good 2B, all these guys ARE going to make errors at big times at some point this season though, it's going to happen, and when it does, it doesn't matter who the guy is on the mound he has to find a way to get out of it. Something our GUTLESS pitchers haven't figured out for a few years. These guys couldn't hold a candle to guys like Clemens, Pettitte, Cone, El Duque, Wells, guys who would pick their teammates up when they had to.

Here is the bottomline on last night. I don't care how much anybody hates A-Rod, I can't stand him lately either, but last night's game is NOT on A-Rod, Melky Cabrera (who picked right up where he left off last year), or anybody else. It is on Randi and only Randi for coming apart at the seams like a little bitch. And it's on this organization for NOT being able to put together a decent pitching staff with $200 mil. Pathetic. George wants to bitch? Bitch about useless f*cks like Pavano and Wright, and Johnson, and Small, etc. At least A-Rod won an MVP here, maybe it's a personal accomplishment, but you don't win it with out doing some positives for the team. More than I can say for George's boy Randi who has done nothing but sh*t the bed.

Levine's specialty is stuff like getting a stadium deal approved. Since I don't particularly want a new stadium, I could take him or leave him.

Dude, I'm not arguing with you in the slighest. Any pitcher who gives up, what was it? 7 runs in the first 3 innings, is completely at fault. Sure, ARod made a couple of errors that cost us 4 runs, but ultimately if the pitching was at the caliber it should have been, then there wouldn't have been as many opportunities to make those fielding errors. I've maintained since before the season started that our pitching is going to kill us, I don't care what our bats do, we just don't have what it takes at this point to beat the sox let alone win a pennant.

RJ has got to learn how to pitch. He’s earning a fortune and the least he could do is develop a new pitch or 2. F*cking Pedro doesn’t have his fastball (throws at 88) but he’s learned how to pitch and keeps on adding pitches. This year he added a back door slider that’s been catching the lh hitters off guard. For RJ the 98 mph fastball and the consistent biting slider are not coming back. But with a another pitch or 2 and good location and changing speeds he has enough to be very good.

:please: About a week ago, Randi was saying if he can't pitch up to his ability, then he would walk away from the contract tomorrow. Well, he's had two horrendous starts since . . .

BOTTOM LINE: if he had an ounce of integrity, he'd retire mid-season and void the rest of the contract (that's exactly what Gehrig did). RJ is washed and he's embarrassing himself by soiling the once proud pinstripes ! :furious2:

George should ask Randi to retire if he has to then take that money and use it to help pay for Roger Clemens.    That would be the most that f*cking washed up piece of sh*t contributes to this team this year.
