But I've been saying since day 1 that Melky should have been playing the corners for Columbus with Thompson in Center Field. The decisions made by Torre, Newman, and whatever brown nose is Managing Columbus concerning Thompson/Crosby/Cabrera have been laughable.

He didn't look like a CF when we saw him, but it was a small sample size. He really looks clueless even when he does stuff right. Perhaps he's the heir to Bernie williams.

If he had half Bernie's speed, sure handedness and smoothness maybe he could be a decent CFer. Bernie got to alot despite bad judgment, and caught what he got to despite questionable routes at times. Maybe Melky can play there, but I think he'll be average at best. I was wrong about his bat(so far) so hopefully i'm wrong about this too.

It was windy as hell and he's not used to right field, but you HAVE to catch that ball. You know I love Melky, but until he proves it in the field, he's no more than a career minor leaguer.
