Anyone else concerned about him? I'm not seeing the Giambi that we got last year. He's getting mistakes and being challenged and he isn't capitalizing. I noticed a bit of it in Spring as well. He'll always get those walks, since he has the great eyes, but the guy isn't turning on balls or hitting them where they are pitched with authority right now.

I think it's still early enough to consider it a slow first week. He's like 2-15 or something like that. People go through many slumps like that during the season.

That is true, but part of what made Giambi so shitty was his inability to turn on anything or go with the ball. They're pounding him in and he's doing sh*t. He's even getting some mistakes and doing sh*t with them. Last year's Giambi had a clue and you felt confident. I think right now he couldn't do much with mistakes down broadway.

Neither were technically strikes...but they could have been called strikes depending on the illegal strike zones of some umpires.
