He'll still be a question mark just from sheer lack of activity when he comes back. Until then Farnsworth is going to have to step up and be the guy who can get a 1 run lead to Rivera. Like it or not until further notice he has Tom Gordon's role and hopefully he'll justifiy the high hopes alot of us here have for him.

The last time Dotel played a full season he had a 4.09 ERA (I know it was as a closer, but 8th inning + New York = Oakland closer type pressure) and he's coming back from arm surgery and will have missed more than a year. To count of him for sh*t this season is beyond sunshine.

It was 3.69 in 04, 3.52 last year, 2.48 in 03. Last time his era was over 4 for a full season he was a starter.

My bad. That was his ERA with Oakland after he got traded. The combined for that season was 3.69.

Good catch, Tommy.

The ERA aint great for a setup guy. But I look at it like this... it's him late in games or Proctor (because you Joe will you use him). I'm taking Dotel every time.
