BTW, Torre goes to the well too often once again. 2 from Wright would have been sufficient.
It should have worked. I don't care if the ball was hit hard. Damon was timing his jump when he still had room to run. Cano messed up as routine a play as you can possibly have, and Kendal and Scutaro got hits based on defensive positioning because of the two baserunners. :sunshine:
Thank you. That was way too much spin in one thread. I thought someone was going to agree. Wright was left in too long like Torre always does.

You can't honestly defend Wright giving up a 400 blast to center and two hard hit singles. Sure, the Ken Oh error was bad, but Wright wasn't getting through this inning unfazed
If Damon and Cano make those plays he probably does. Infield isnt' back, scutaro grounds out to short. I could punch Torre in the face for last night, but tonight I can't kill him.

Are you guys for real? If both plays are made and everything happens the same they are out of the inning. No runner on third, no single by Scutaro.

What's with no accountability for pitchers giving up 400 ft blasts and hard hit singles. Both hardhit singles by Kendall and Scutaro were legit regardless of IF positioning as well, especially with Jeter at SS. It was up the middle.

I didn't say no accountability. I'm saying it would have worked. The single was just to Jeter's left.

You can't expect a CF to make that play!!!!! That was was scortched 400 feet! If Damon made that play it would have been a remarkable play. Unless Damon has rocket skates on, he isn't catching that ball! Not too many CF'ers do.

Jeter has no range and wouldn't off gotten that ball anyway.

I would have got yelled at in 11th grade for wasting 3 steps trying to jump when there was room left to run. It would have been a good play, not remarkable. Unless I totally miss judged the Jeter play it wasn't more than a step to his left.

Matsui drives me nuts with his Tony Hawk 900 routine on every fly ball. A-Rod is the only glove on this team.

Ken Oh needs a f*cking needle in his balls every error he makes. I thought he was going to get better. This was Soriano like bad. Improvement can't be assumed, that's for sure. We learned the hard way

The difference is that Canoo is still young. Soriano was in his late 20's.
