Before I keep defending Matt DeSalvo, I think you have the wrong sunshinner. DeSalvo is MMs boy. I like his changeup, but realize he is 25 and just got out of AA. |

Remember when Kay kept going on and on about how great a trade the Ventura for Bubba and Proctor was? |

.220 .331 .422=Ventura with the Dodgers 2003 .254 .302 .418=Boone with the Yankees 2003 Claussen 4.67 career era Proctor 5.81 .221 .253 .301=Crosby career .243 .337 .362=Ventura with Dodgers 2004 I put these trades together because they were connected, neither happens withouth the other. There is no way to look at this trade where it wasn't a loss. Claussen should have been held for another trade, and Ventura released or made a bench player when A-Rod became an option. Hell if Claussen was around for the A-Rod trade, we probably still have Joaquin Arias. |

YES is a hype machine though, the announcers love toeing the company line. We could trade A-Rod, Cano, Jeter, and Rivera for David Eckstein and some 30 year old AA pitcher and Kay would tell us it's a great trade. |

DeSalvo- 6.6 H/9, 9.2 K/9, 2.62 era Jodie- 8.9 H/9, 6.8 K/9, 3.27 era...Didn't have DeSalvo's changeup They are extreemly different pichers. Will DeSalvo suck? Its extreemly possible, but he isn't Brett Jodie, Brett Jodie never deserved the hype we all seem to think he had, he couldn't strike people out and was extreemly hitable. Randy Choate had a .228 BAA lefties with over 10 K/9...and he didn't have Smith's slider I'm just sayin |
