Entering the game using Enter Sandman. From what I've heard they both started using it in '97. Wagner used it at a suggestion from Bagwell and the Yankees picked it for Mo. This has become a Yankee tradition now in the 9th inning when Mo comes in, game set match...bam, here comes Mo. Now all of a sudden they are playing this in Flushing for the "other" New York team. I don't know, sounds pretty "lame" to me. |

Well, I don't think it's worth a huge discussion on M and MD. Personally, it's up to Wagner IMO. It's not like he's being a copycat, since he's used it for awhile. They can suggest he change it to establish his own identity in New York, but really it shouldn't matter if he decides to keep with what's working. Players are superstititous. I don't think he should have to change it if he don't want to. What I thought was incredibly lame though was Braden Looper using Enter Sandman down in Florida(I assume he didn't use it in Shea, right?) and Curt Schilling copying Eric Gagne's Welcome to the Jungle entrance. |

If I were a closer, I'd call myself "The Ice Man." I'd walk (not jog) to the mound emotionless, and I'd come out to Dean Malenko's WCW theme. |

You wouldn't be able to jog without getting winded anyway. |

How'd you come out to the mound? Riding a giant, motorized yarmulke, fans throwing matzah balls as "Hava Nagila" blasts over the loud speaker. |

He should come out like Barry Horowitz and have a handprint instead of a number on the back |

I think it's not worth dedicating five minutes of discussion to, let alone 5 1/2 f*cking hours, but I guess that's besides the point. I honestly don't care. Does Mariano own on the rights to the song? No. Is Billy Wagner coming in to the song going to effect the way Mo pitches for us? No. I'd like someone to explain to me why exactly I should give a sh*t, and why this was such a HUGE deal that M and MD dedicated an entire show to it. :-| |

Here's an explanation: They're cocksuckers. The baseball teams winning doesn't fill enough time and neither could give a f*ck about University of Florida (cuz they don't have a tight relationship with the coach and their star player wasn't up for NCAA player of the year) winning the title so there goes college basketball. And God forbid they talk about the Knicks. One of those days when they gotta pull one out of Francesa's ass hole. It doesn't matter to me. At bat music, pitcher music. :dunno: Knowing how religious Mariano is, I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't even know the name of the song he comes out to. Mo likes that good church music and Panamanian gospel. How you say, "We shall gather at the river" in Spanish? |

He's always used it......it's not like he started to once he came to New York. Why should Wagner have to stop using it just because he came to a city where the "other" closer uses it? That's ridiculous, and yet another reason why I hate M&MD. |

If I was a Muet fan I wouldn't want to hear Mo's song everytime my closer came in to pitch the 9th. That song is associated with the Yankees. As someone who isn't a fan of Metallica I think of Mariano when I hear that song. So since Wagner came to New York I think he needs to consider a different song. |

That's not true at all (at least for me) and I'm sure there aren't many Mets fans at all that feel that way. I'm a Metallica fan and the last thing I'd think of is Mariano Rivera, when I heard that song at Shea in the 9th inning. I don't think many people outside of Yankee fans think of Mariano Rivera when they hear that song..... |

There were also several Mets fans who called M and MD and said the same thing you're saying Vin. So it's definitely divided. I wouldn't think it's really that big a deal, but it got turned in to one because the fat one and the loudmouth had nothing to talk about. |

That thought never even crossed my mind. Big f*cking deal. Some Mets fans need to grow up and worry about their own team, not about how their closer's entry song matches a "rival" closer. That's asanine. |

Apparently that dickface Gary Cohen said "Enter Sandman" at the end of the 8th inning tonight. Use the song...fine...don't call this guy the Sandman. Wagner couldn't hold Mo's jock strap. |
