Hopefully he keeps this up. It's just one game, so I'm not going to get too excited. It is a hell of a nice start though.

Great move by Tampa to bring him aboard!
Tampa would have signed him for 7 years and around 100 mill. Cash held out and got his man for a semi reasonable deal :agent:

I don't f*ckin understand for one f*cking second how a guy who hasn't even earned his pinstripes gets love yet gets sucked as if he's the 2nd coming of Reggie Jackson.
ARod had to earn em', his turning moment was takin no sh*t from Arroyo/Varitek...
Damon plays ONE f*ckING game, a good one, i'm happy and he gets all this credit.
But Derek Jeter. Who bleeds pinstripes, is the face of the New York Yankees, and a true winner with 4 World Series rings...Gets f*ckin ridiculed for looking at a strike...
Go f*ck yourselves with a pen.
Last year I constantly defended ARod, along with Matty23 and you stubborn bitches refused and sucked on Matsui when he was doing worse than ARod.
It took ARod and AL MVP for yo to give him love, a f*ckin disgrace. He could go 4-5 with 3 Homers and get bashed for getting called on strikes in the 4th inning...
Now this year I'll do for Jeter what I did for ARod last year and make you all realize that you are witnessing a great Yankee and the soon to be 1st career Yankee with 3,000 hits.
f*ck yourselves.

I don't think anybody is sucking his c*ck. It was just mentioned that he had a nice debut. Which he did.

Hey i'm just as happy as the next guy that Damon had a good game, good for him and the Yankees.
But I swear, if he's cheered in his Yankee debut at the Stadium, it will be a joke, Yankee fans will have lost their luster...
They booed Tino for replacing Mattingly...Booed Giambi for replacing Tino
Bernie Williams is a Yankee-great, another proven winner and great guy.
Johnny Damon will be replacing him, and he better get his booes for replacing a Yankee great. If he gets cheered as if he's Don Larsen it'd be a travesty

Happy to have him is one thing...But he'll bring alot to the team and Jeter won't? Jeter does it year in and year out.
Be happy he's no longer a RedSox, thats fine...But your're glad to have him but hate Jeter...Very logical.

He's going to get cheered, but other guys will get cheered better. Jeter always gets love at the Stadium. Williams, obviously. Mo, Sheffield, maybe even A-Rod will all get cheered nicely. I don't think Damon will be booed though. And by the end of the year, he should be a fan favorite. If not, it means he aint doing his job, and it means we're in deep sh*t.

Hey I have no problem with Damon and hope he becomes a fan favorite. But you're not gonna see me cheer for him until he EARNS his fans and pinstripes, like ARod did...He's replacing a great, he has to get his due until he proves otherwise.
I know Jeter gets his love from the stadium...I'm just calling out BC,Strider,Vinny and you to an extent...
Wow what a coincidence...The VC

I don't think I hate on Jeter as much as you think I do. I'll admit, I've done some Jeter bashing. However, he's far from my most hated player on the team. It's the starting pitchers who really give me a headache. Though CM Wang, and Shawn Chacon are cool.

Reading too much into it. He had a good game and we're excited, just like we were excited about every major acquisition we make. If he produces, he'll get his due. Otherwise, he'll get booed like a mofo, particularly with his past Boston success on the resume.

That's fine. We can both agree with starting pitching is piss. Even the big Moose fans have to dislike him, i'm not a fan of him much...Randy deserves his bashings, that's fine...
Pavano is a bitch, along with Wright. Chacon and Wang are pretty much all we got, and Randy as well. If the pitching can hold up, great, but I definately am looking for a starting pitcher come July if i'm Cashman...
Blast the pitching...That deserves to be bashed, it's horrible...But this Jeter nonsense is horrible, and last year ARod Pool Boy sh*t got out of hand...

Javy Vasquez two years ago started his 1st career start 8 innings 1 Earned? By seasons end, he was blasted like Sonny Corleone at the toll-booth.
Right there...The constant flip-flops...One night Sheffield is the man, the next night he's a soft bitch?
Which is why I bring up Damon...How can oyu be on the guys wagon already? He's proved absolutely nothing, i't's 1 game! Let him earn his way through the fans rather than say he'll be a good aquisition this early and you're happy for him
When we very well know by April 29th he'll be in the Soft L Club...I have "you people" read like a f*ckin book, what's the next chapter.

I honestly don't understand what you're trying to say? When we make an acquisition, we should hold our tongue and not praise them when they do good until they do it for a full year? It's the nature of the sport to be fickle when it comes to cheering or boring.

You cheer for Damon now...He has a bad stretch, which every play does where he goes 2-15 8Ks in a 4 game stretch and he'll be f*ckin blasted worse than a hooker in the Bronx.
It was a nice debut, good start...But it's gonna happen when you all turn Dr. Jeckel and bash him for a bad game. I can already see it.

It was a nice debut, good start...But it's gonna happen when you all turn Dr. Jeckel and bash him for a bad game. I can already see it.
What you're saying is all true. But it's normal. I tell you right now, if Damon goes 0 for 5 with 5 Ks tonight, I'll blast his ass. And if he hits 3 HRs tomorrow, I'll cheer his ass. What are we supposed to do? Not comment

Calm the f*ck down, nobody crowned him king of New York, we said nice f*cking debut which is what it was. Nobody said nice f*cking Yankee career Johnny! The title says nice debut, which is stating a f*cking fact.

Exactly. It was a good debut, just like Vazquez was praised for his debut in 04, however, he will now always be remembered as the guy who served up that Grand Slam to Johnny Damon. It's not flip-flopping. It's giving the guy credit for a nice game, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Yeah, I was there to say nice game Javy after this debut. I said, "nice first half Javy". Then he choked and never was the same over the second half and in the postseason. Javy's over all picture as a Yankee was pretty shitty when you consider how it ended. God forbid but if Johnny Damon has a great first half then slumps down the stretch and doesn't do sh*t in October we'll say, "Hey Johnny, shitty f*cking year, you better bring it next year you soft L." We call it like we see it, and last night he had a good game in his Yankee debut.

Yeah, I don't exactly see what's wrong with praising the guy when he does well then bashing him if he does bad. Maybe getting on his case during a 3 day slump is jumping the gun, I can see that argument. But still, if Damon hits .330 in the first half then slumps to .201 in the second we're not supposed to say anything? No, doesn't work that way. Obviously you root for the guy to do well, but there's nothing wrong with saying that he sucks when he is in fact playing like crap.

All I know is if Damon wasn't aquired Bubba Crosby may have been starting games for this team(though i still think that was a smoke screen). For that reason I can't see myself getting mad at Jonny unless he puts up .260, .310, .360 or something like that.

Yeah, that's another reason. I don't look at it like he's replacing Bernie, I look at it like he's keeping Crosby out of the lineup.
It's like was mentioned though, given Damon's record of success against us when he was with Boston, he's not going to get the royal treatment if he doesn't live up to expectations.

true that. I expect .290, .360 obp with steals and occasional pop. He'll hear it if he's much worse than that. But if he's say .285, .350, then i'll keep cool because i know crosby would have been .220, .290

Tell your sister to close her legs, it reaks of Salmon.
Anyway. It's just comical that a guy will get his props, great...But in two weeks he can be blasted for having a bad 2-game stretch...It's only a matter of time till all of you turn, which is the inevitable.

I've already turned. If he gets a few more feet on that ball in the 9th, we got the lead and Mo is closing it out instead of Proctor giving away the game
