Bowa had him on the bench and was schooling him...Jeter didn't say a word....it was like when DeNiro picked Hendrie up at the court house after he first got pinched in Goodfellas..."Listen to me..Listen ..you never rat on your friends and always keep your mouth shut" Bowa had him round the neck... It was part fear part school girl...the look Jeet had.... I can't say for sure - but I would not doubt Bowa was addressing Jeter's matinee idol image/routine....I'm just guessing here - it's not sauce material...but I gotta a hunch. |

You watched Goodfellas yesterday too, didn't ya? It reminded me of what the Sopranos is missing. Do they have any members of the crew that aren't Italian? Henry Hill and Jimmy Conway were both Irish and were a big part of the mob. In the Sopranos, they all got Italian names. Plus, there isn't that real paranoid whacking on the show like when Jimmy has that whole crew taken out to save all that money. That's one of the mobs fortes, random whackings with reasons that wouldn't be good enough for the average person. |

I read the book Wiseguys - long before Goodfellas was made , which Goodfelas follows to a "T" - Jimmy Conway is really Jimmy Burke in real life aka the Irish Godfather...he just died in prison a few years ago...he was a murderous killer who nobody fecked with he was tied in with the old school Westies and the Lucchese family - http://gangstersinc.tripod.com/Burke.html There is a ton of a-holeness to the Sopranos 1) The crimes they commit are straight 70's jobs and Goodfellas ripoffs - the Italian mob -what's left of it are heavily involved in pump and dump stock stuff and internet crimes etc...and I'm sure much more modern stuff- Hi jacking trucks? when's the last time you heard that happening?? Chase dropped the ball there 2) The way they dress some of these guy up - Straight 70's sh!t as well...Vellore shirts and bad suits ala Sylvio's look...Sylvio's look is absurd...3) There are a lot of other organized crime syndicates they could have drawn in as well as freelance crooks..... |

That is true. Their crimes do seem a little outdated, although that HUD scam seemed legit. Is it normal for the FBI to take that long, even though they had a snitch caporegime for 4 or 5 years as well? What's the deal with the Silvio bashing? Everyone seems to point to him as cartoonish and false |
