He's been sh*t in ST so far. He's getting hammered by everyone. If he can't keep the ball down it might as well be BP. He better realize we need him to be a 15 game winner this year.

Saying this without fervor - I don't think he's a 15-game winner. I don't like his stuff and I'm still not confident in him being able to stay healthy. That shoulder injury and the surprise return bothered me. I watched him for a couple pitches in an ST game and the velocity (on the 4-seam) was down.

He doesn't really have a repatoire. It's really sink or stink. If the sinker isn't going good or he can't locate it, he's f*cked.

$200 million team and we need to worry about this guy being a 15 game winner or not. That's really pathetic when you think about it.

It's honestly not keeping the ball down that is his problem. His fastball has such great natural movement that he doesn't need to put it exactly where he wants it to be effective. From what I seen, which I never did last season, is his fastball is coming in Scott Proctor like straight, no movement, thus no heaviness, and it's BP time. I trust him though. Natural sink like his is just that, natural. He'll have it if he's healthy

Honestly, I can see not liking him having an arsenal, but what's not to like about the one pitch he's mastered? It's almost ALWAYs moving, it's heavy, and he can range from 90 MPH to 95 with it. And he's not a headcase. You don't have to worry about him overthrowing and flattening it out, ala Zambrano. His fastball zips.

Oh, they know. I already told them about what happened on our Carribbean cruise in the spring of 2003. It's not Vegas; what happens in St. Kitts comes back home.

4.50 could win 15 games with this team.

That doesn't make that ERA acceptable.

This guy is pure garbage. He's feast or famine. If he doesn't have his number 1 stuff he gets beaten like a mule. 12-10, 4.78 ERA. Should have traded him when we had the chance. Loser cocksucker.

That's true of mostly every sinker baller. The key is how often are they on. IMO, Wang shows up with his fastball moving all over the place almost every start, and I got no problem with him.

Cano isn’t it true that sinker ball pitchers tend to pitch better when their a little tired? When their very strong the ball tends to flatten out a little.

Wangs stuff reminds me a little of the pitcher the Twins used as their closer when they won back in the early 90's, Rick Aguilera.

I honestly don't know the exact mechanics of what makes a sinker sink, and it's different for different guys, but yeah, it is a general rule that being tired is better, since you will be less able to overthrow it and have it elevated in the zone. Less velocity, more command and sink in general. Jaret Wright's stint in ATL is a prime example. Mazzone made him reduce his velocity and the ball just sunk like it hadn't ever before. Being tired would just serve as a way of keeping the ball from being overthrown. Obviously, your velocity won't be at a peak when your arm is tired. 90 MPH with some sink instead of 93, 94 in the heart of the plate. Although there are guys out there that have sick velocity and sinking action and movement, ala Carlos Zambrano. Wang seems to have great movement when his velocity is up too.

Nice pitching againt a below average team. You're as useless as an a-hole on my arm.

Pieces of sh*t like Wang really make me appreciate gutty gritty guys like Clemens, Pettitte, Cone, Wells and Duque.

You guys are being way too harsh for a guy that got f*cked on an error and was out of this inning with strike 3 uncalled. It looks like he's experimenting and not throwing his sinker all the time, which is what you f*cks were complaining about in the first place.

Positives- Nasty Changeup developed apparently, and his fastball is clocking at 93, 94. His 2 seamer has great movement too. Location was a bit off today, but geez, you guys come on, for those that bitch he's sinker or bust, he was mixing in a bit of everything and didn't do a bad job

You're backing this guy way too much. This is like Vin with Contreras a few years ago. It doesn't look good for the VC when you sponsor guys like this.

Yeah the error hurt but he never picked his teammates up - then he blows Frank Thomas away but walks Dan Johnson for the 2nd time ...WHY!????

How do you blow a guy away with a changeup?

And I don't know why they pussied around Dan Johnson. It's cost us twice
