He's looked good lately apparently.

Homie's boy, Bubba Crosby, leads off with a groundout. No doubt that earned him a trip up North

RJ made Shannon Stewart look silly to start the game. He's using his split more like a changeup.

Castillo grounds out. RJ's locating his fastball well. He threw that 94 MPH inside.

Still not seeing the slider. He's thrown a few, but it's not featured, breaking a ton or being used when he normally would

Another weak grounder.

Silva blows Phillips away. That ruins any good he's done this spring, since I'm more of a K pitcher than Carlos Silva.

Ironically, Silva only walked 8 in 188 IP last year and Cano walked 16 times last year.

Still nobody biting on the slider. It must have been lost in the trip from Arizona. Randy Ks Torii Hunter with a fastball well located on the inside corner

Terry Tiffee with a 2 out double. Leaves a slider right down the middle.

RJ starts Batista off with a slider taken for a ball. Man, his slider has no use now. As I say that, he finally gets a swing and miss, but it is Batista

Battista pops out to Stinnett. 2 IP, 1 H, 2 K for RJ

Your not telling the whole story! He busted his hump down the line! Getting out and trying really hard is better than getting a hit! RUUDY...RUUDY..RUUDY!!

Seriously though, call him my boy again and i'll cut you :furious:

:peace:

Nobody on this team hustles more than Bubba. If he doesn't deserve a spot on this roster I don't know who does. Bubba is the man.

What does Silva throw again? He's not a fastball guy if I remember right. Can't say i've paid much attention to him outside W/L record.

Another weak grounder induced by RJ. He's really just locating his fastball well today and mixed in some off-speed. Nothing dominant. His slider is still unavailable for a word.

That's all Silva throws is fastballs basically. He's a finesse sinkerballer.

We're never gonna see the Randy Johnson that dominated for years. There are still times when he can get the slider and fastball working on occassion, but it doesn't happen often. I'm expecting another season just like last year, possibly worse.

Wow!!! Johnson gets a K off Stewart with a slider that ends up near his feet. That's old school, 2 years ago Randy

Looked like the slider on that last K, but even that one wasn't great.

All that matters with it is if it gets the batter to swing despite being so off the zone. That did, so I can't knock him. He still isn't doing that consistantly like he used to, and what made him so dominant.

3 IP, 3 H, 0 BB, 3 K for RJ. I'm not seeing anything dominant, but he's pitching effectively.

Probably tried to pull the sinker. Never a good idea :no1: As long as he starts and pinch hits enough against fastball pitchers he won't be completely worthless. I could be wrong on that though.
