The right movie won Best Picture (Crash).

Hoffman is one of my favorites, but I was rooting for David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck). He was unbelievable. I was rooting for him because Hoffman is going to win his Oscars, and I'm not sure Strathairn will ever top what he did again.

Would have liked to have seen Dillon take supporting, but I can't argue too much with Clooney in Syriana.

Didn't see Walk the Line yet, but Reese Witherspoon is a cutie, so I can't complain there. Good actress too.

Fu<k the gay cowboys.

I was surprised Crash won Best Picture, only because I never heard much buzz around it, let alone actually winning the whole thing. Walk the Link didn't even get nominated? I had just assumed it would win. I have literally seen zero of these movies, so I can't really have a well-formulated opinion.

This year was the most educated I've ever been going into the Oscars. The nominated movies I saw were (for all categories):

Capote
Good Night, and Good Luck
Syriana
Crash
King Kong
Batman Begins
Munich
Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room
Cinderella Man
Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith
War of the Worlds

Crash was the best of them. If you haven't seen it, get it. It's on DVD.

PSH is the man. He was unbelievably good in Capote.

Notice that the Indies ruled the Oscars this year.

I just grabbed the paper today. This place has no news, so that makes the headlines, since that guy is from here. The headline mentions how he gave credit to his mother, who is a local judge. Pathetic. Between that and the Autistic kid, it's pathetic what the local news and people get happy about.

Crash was a good movie (an overly preachy one however) but was it really a best picture kind of movie?

I read the back of the DVD somewhere about a month ago. It sounded like it had a liberal message in it? Am I wrong?

It's basicly saying we're all racist. It shows a sterotype and makes it seem like that's the norm.

1) PB, you need to lighten up
2) BC, totally agree with your assesment. The movie was good, but I mean, it made everyone racist toward each other. Im pretty sure not everyone in the world is racist.

If you want to see a better movie dealing with race and the city of Los Angeles see "Grand Canyon"

Yeah. He plays a supporting character in it. Kevin Kline and Danny Glover are the leads.

Why don't you take your clothes off, get back into bed and teach me a lesson?

You want a lesson? I'll give you a lesson. How 'bout a geography lesson? My father's from Puerto Rico. My mother's from El Salvador. Neither one of those is Mexico.

Ah. Then I guess the big mystery is who gathered all those remarkably different cultures together and taught them all how to park their cars on their lawns?

Haha I was laughing at that part too. Or the part where Luda and Taye Diggs are complaining about racism and both whip out guns.

I thought "Crash" was a great movie, but I'm with 473 here when he says that it might not have deserved an oscar. Haven't seen "Brokeback Mountain" + the others nominated yet , so I can't comment on those.

The Oscars are a disgrace to America...it's a buncha leftist whores like George Clooney - arguably the worst actor to ever collect a check - getting together to rub vasseline on eachother's asses...

Jon Stewart is a talentless Jackass....Jack Nicholson - clown....Ben Stiller - attention whore ....on and on....

Crash was a decent movie - A Rental ..that's all. The Hollywood slobs really sucked up that Gay Cowboy angle ...the only thing missing is - they weren't minority - gay -Cowboys - if that were the case it would have swept.

That 36 Mafia bit was a eyesore to TV- they cursed and were inaudible....their rap song was sh!t , but then again - what Rap isn't.

The best movie of the year was The Johnny Cash movie..hands down...The reason it didn't win was b/c Ray won the year before...a movie that would make you rather shove a roofing spike up yer ass....
