Look for former Twins and Mariners second baseman Bret Boone to announce his retirement from baseball this week.

And I thought he could have won the 2B job? :dunno:

That's not happening unless he's allowed to use the roids again. Adieu.

I don't get how he's totally useless though with that glove. I think the problem is Minnesota took a flyer on him hoping for an offensive boost, and the Mets are probably looking for offense as well. At this point, treat him like a gold-glove 2B that anything he offers offensively is a bonus. I guess the problem with that is most these teams that could use a 2B probably need at least SOME offense. Him batting 8th with a .310 OBP in the NL is probably a bit of a problem.

Actually the Mets are going to start the one that plays defense the best, while some offense could be needed from 2B, it isn't mandatory

Well, in terms of defensive abilities, very few have the range and hands of Bret Boone. He did retire today, so it doesn't matter now.

I’m guessing that unlike Giambi the mofo didn’t rigorously work out so he will hit like sh*t. With him hitting like sh*t everyone will be saying this mofo without the roids sucks big time. He’s an f*cking joke. So he retired to avoid the embarrassment.
