Don't really follow the minors to be honest, but from what I've heard, he's supposed to be an ok player. Then again, it could all be just hype based on who his father is. |

MM hates winners. Clemens is a big reason why we won 2 WS and 4 pennants in his 5 years here. MM would rather root for Sally Sidebruns Mussina. |

And then he left us high and dry like the piece of sh*t he is, yet you still kiss his ass, but you call Clemens a whore for doing the same. Makes sense. |

The old man is blind as a bat. Pettitte and his wife whored themselves to Houston. We offered more money per year and he still left. f*ck him! |

Nice spin Vin...we offered more money at the last minute. Hmm, funny how you don't have a problem with free agents leaving other teams to come to the Yankees, but are pissed if they decide to leave here. |

Funny that it's ok for Pettitte to pack up and head to Houston, but Clemens is a "whore" for deciding to pitch for his home town team. :peace: |

I don't call Clemens a whore because he wanted to pitch for Houston. I call him various names (I hated him before he was a Yankee) because he said he was calling it quits and changed his mind 2 seconds later - meaning he never really was going to quit. Also, his current "I'll pitch May, June, or July" bullshit to drive up prices increase his a-hole factor. |

The whore arguement also doesn't apply to Pettitte since he took less money. :peace: |

I just find it funny that Pettitte gets a free ride for sticking it to us (lets face it, he never wanted to stay here), yet Clemens isn't allowed to change his mind. The guy decided he wanted to pitch for the Astros, big deal, we all knew how he was anyway, I look at it as "Roger being Roger." I have less of a problem with what he did than I do with a guy knowing he wanted out of town, yet he (and his family) still went out of their way to try and make the Yankees look bad, like they didn't respect him (please, if disrespect is a $39 mil contract over 3 years, I'd LOVE to be disrespected). If Pettitte had just admitted he didn't want to stay, I'd have no problem with him, there are plenty of guys who've gotten sick of being here and decided to leave, that's fine, just don't bad mouth the organization after telling them to f*ck, and spitting in the faces of fans who stuck behind you during the rough times (Game 1 of the '96 WS, after putting us in a 1-2 hole in the '98 ALCS, the PUTRID 2001 WS performance). |

Pettitte didn't exactly trash the Yankees. Basically his feelings were hurt. He says there was no real offer until the last minute. The Yankees didn't really want him back because of his elbow, but didn't say it. Somewhere between what Pettitte said and what the Yankees said, lays the truth. |

The truth is he wanted to go home, period. It wouldn't have mattered if gave him all the stars in the sky, if we rolled out the red carpet and treated him like a king he was going to Houston. That simple. |

I think he was leaning towards Houston, but his loyalties could have been swayed. Face facts though, the Yankees did NOT want him. They feared the wear and tear on his elbow. |

All I'm saying is he wanted to come back as much as you think the organization wanted him back. Yet they didn't go out of their way to make him look like sh*t, while he and his father go to the press and start trashing the Yankees. And for all the "they didn't want him" crap that is spewed, we still offered him a three-year deal. I refuse to believe his mind could've been changed. I think he had been looking forward to getting out before spring training for the '03 season even ended. |
