Carlos Beltran (Puerto Rico) Ramon Castro (Puerto Rico) Endy Chavez (Venezuela) Carlos Delgado (Puerto Rico) Victor Diaz (Domincan Republic) Julio Franco (Domincan Republic) Jose Reyes (Domincan Republic) Jorge Julio (Venezuela) Dae-Sung Koo (Korea) Jose Lima (Domincan Republic) Pedro Martinez (Domincan Republic) Pedro Feliciano (Domincan Republic) Juan Padilla (Puerto Rico) Jose Valentin (Puerto Rico) Billy Wagner (USA) Victor Zambrano (Venezuela) Duaner Sanchez (Domincan Republic) I guess Wilpon, unlike Steinbrenner, didn't try to talk any of these guys out of it. Personally I believe Steinbrenner is correct and has more of a passion to win than Wilpon ever will. I don't want Pedro going for obvious reasons. I don't want Wagner going b/c he is not a young pitcher and we need him for a long season. Also if he gets hurt we are totally f*cked. I don't like Reyes going b/c he did not play winter ball and with his past leg problems I would like to see him get into playing shape under the trainers watchful eye. I also have to wonder about marginal players playing in the WBC while some other player comes into camp, gets playing time he would not have and impresses. When the marginal player gets back from the WBC he may find he does not have a job. |

Big deal. As long as they can play ball, I don't care where Omar gets them from. |

There's more Dominicans on the Mets than in Washington Heights. |

You're saying Reyes, Delgado, Beltran, and Martinez can't play ball? |

The Mets were able to sign 16 yr old Fernando Martinez even though they were not the highest bidder. He signed with the Mets b/c it’s like never leaving the DR. BTW the scouts drool over this kid. |
