He did, but he still missed over 30 games, and that's healthy for him these days. |

It sucks soooo bad he has gotten so many injuries. Def. would have been MVP once or twice imo without the injuries. |

It really does suck, particularly with him. His swing is so friggin natural and fluid for baseball. The dude can't even bench 200 LBs supposedly. He just has a gift for baseball. I bet you if you talked to some scouts about Griffey they'd tell you hitting wise, there is no real difference from Griffey now and Griffey 1996. He could have produced til he was 45 with his swing. He'd beat Aaron with room to spare. Pity. :no1: |

You think you'd like him DHing here? He's tailor made for Yankee Stadium. I can't overlook him for the simple fact, he's not washed up. He's a legitimate top hitter still. Perfect for Yankee Stadium. It'll never happen, but I can't dismiss the thought. I just can't. |

I would love it, if A)We knew he would NOT get injured, (but that's never possible to know) and B)He was paid cheap, not MILLIONS. (About 1 or 2 million is fine, that's it.) |

With our CF situation last year, I was ready to accept him in that role if we could've gotten him (have Damon now so it's moot and maybe for the best that we didn't panic and trade for him). If he had played in his prime in Yankee Stadium, wow, he sure could've posted some crazy numbers. And who knows, maybe we win another WS or two during our run. |

You never know how things play out. The Reds got cautious with Griffey towards the end of the year. Who knows how things play out if he comes here on a contender. We could have used more bats in post-season that was for sure, as almost everybody went to sleep. But from what I've heard, the Reds actually weren't content on just giving him away, so I can't say we could have gotten him for cheap like I had assumed. When he ends up traded, I assume though the team getting him back will actually be getting a reasonable deal with Cincy taking it's share. |
