Probably Bull Durham would be my favorite out of that list. Field of Dreams is beautifully done, but it's not my favorite. All of them are good, although the Natural is harder to watch after seeing it for the first time. It drags more.

I'd probably go

1. Bull Durham
2. Major League
3. 61
4. Field of Dreams
5. A League Of Their Own
6. Bad News Bears
7. The Natural

I forgot Pride of the Yankees and Sandlot to list them

8) League of their Own - Hanks kills

Okay baseball movie: The Rookie

Horrendous and insulting baseball movie: For Love of the Game

Stupifyingly dumb: The Scout

God awful - Mr. Baseball

Movie to watch for hot girls (or if you're gay for Freddy Prinze Jr.) - Summer Catch

What? You don't buy that a team would spend 50 million on a guy after watching batting practice and striking out a 40 year old Keith Hernandez, allowing him to take the year off, getting to the World Series, starting him in Game 1 for his first professional start, helipcoptering him down to the mound, and pitching a miraculous 27 strikeout perfect game, including the intimidating Ozzie Smith for the final out, despite Bob Costas' praise obviously batting 9th in the lineup and already striking out twice?

I like that one. "This Davis kid is the real thing."
"Oh, is that what this is about. He's a g*ddamn rookie for Christ's sake. You gonna be impressed with a 500 ft home run"
"Yeah"

"You hit .235 last season."
"Last season, I led this club in 9th inning doubles in the month of August"

I really wasn't much a fan of the Bad News Bears remake when I saw it at the theatre, but now that I watched it on DVD, the movie really grew on me. More up-to-date humor in it.

Ok, voted. Eight Men Out is high on my list too. I don't know. I just find it interesting. It was apparently told fairly accurately, good cast, and was just well done.

You blog is really good. You a writer? You articulate your sh*t nice in there. That's all your stuff, right? I been reading it. On your breakdown, I thought Youkalis was finally getting a chance to play 1B and Snow was their backup?

I don't know how I could have left that off, that's one of my favorite movies. I own the damn thing.

That moves into the #3 spot ahead of Bad News Bears. Incidentally, I was referring to the first one, i'm not wasting my time with the remake.

I didn't like Eight Men Out, but I think it was because I found it depressing. I love baseball and it was a very grim subject as far as the sport is concerned.

What I didnt like about it was the end with Joe Jackson playing in some barn league. I hate that scene, I almost always turn it off before then.

They should have ended that movie with Kenesaw Mountain Landis reading his statement where they were all suspended. That was a beautifully done scene with Landis' voice behind the video of the players celebrating their acquittal in court.

D.B. Sweeney is my hometown boy, but he was known as Danny back then. I'll vote on your site later on, MM.

Field of Dreams and Major League are far and away the best for me. It's been so long since I've seen Bad News Bears that I can hardly remember it.

Silliness. Steve Nebraska can play on my team anyday. And he signed for the same deal that AJ Burnett got. 55 mil/5 years years is a steal for him!

:lmao: :lmao: You've watched that movie recently haven't you?

When I first saw the movie, at the beginning, I thought it was a true story with his young pitcher throwing up before the game. That could have been Clay Parker.

LOL, that's Albert Brooks.
Brendan Fraser is a good actor, but is not believable as a pitcher.

Who is he though? I see him and can go "That's Albert Brooks, Ben Savage's dad", but what I want to know is why does he get main credits and someone we recognize by face. I'm familiar with Mel Brooks. What has Albert Brooks done to be a semi-star?

Albert Brooks is a funny guy. Check out the movie "Defending Your Life" He's a writer/director/actor. He usual writes, directs and stars in his own movies.

He's been around forever. He used to do short films for SNL in the 70s.

How about The Fan?

I'd take Bobby Raybourn for RF and have Sheff DH. Of course Sheff would also have to give up #11

Wesley Snipes's swing was horrendous.
