Yes folks, it's that time again. The time when we all sit back and look at how far we've come over the last year and think about the best of the best when it comes to posters. This Sunday, January 29th, is Big Apple Sports' 2nd anniversary. Yup, it's been two whole years since we defected from MSG and created this board. We've lost a few members along the way, and we've gained quite a few awesome people as well. Some of you may remember the awards last year, but for the new people, I'll explain. If you want to see how we did it last year, just take a look at the Awards sub-forum located in this forum. The staff and myself have come up with a list of categories and nominations for each award. Your job (if you choose to accept it) is to pick one (1) poster from each category that you think is most deserving of that title and send your list of potential winners via Personal Message to Rob. We will keep voting open until Sunday night at 9:00. The winners will be announced sometime on Monday, January 30th. Ok, well, here are the nominations and all you have to do is pick one from each category and send 'em on over to Rob! Oh, and try not to vote for yourself! :agent: Any questions, just PM me and I'll be happy to answer. It’s done similar to IRAQ. Since it’s BAS stick your middle finger in a bottle of ink and then hold it aloft. Aside to CM, don’t play with yourself until the ink dries. |

Why the feck is basketball ignored and not Hockey? The NBA board alone has more posts than the Rangers and Islanders boards combined. |

This isn't good if Strider thinks I wasn't most pessimistic. It took me a while to get in to form in 2005, I need to step up my game from the beginning of this year I guess. So by the first game of spring training I'll be in mid-season form.  |

I think Cano gets the edge over you because he's doom 'n gloom all the way for the Yankees and Giants. You're the ultimate "Aww, f*ck" guy on the Yankees but you don't complain enough about the Jets. You're still a great hater, but you need to expand the anger. |

Good point. If I expand in to the Jets, and Devils next season, I don't think anybody can hate more than me. I don't give enough of a sh*t about the NBA anymore to say anything about the Bulls. I used to love that sport, but for some reason I just can't get in to it anymore. I watch more tennis and golf these days than I do basketball. :no1: |

That's why Pippen was my favorite player. Honeslty, I think there's too much show boating and I like the college game a lot better. In the NBA you just need one or two stars and you can win, in college you actually have to work as a team. It's a different style of play and I enjoy more. Though I won't lie, some of the plays some of these guys pull off in the NBA are amazing. But baseball, hockey, football are more the types of sports I like to watch. Baseball specifically because I played it. |

I felt it was out of place for me to call anyone pessimistic, so I did vote for myself on that one. I didn't want to seem like I was knocking anyone, because those are all my boys on that list. I would question some of the nominations, but that's not really appropriate, since it's a message board award. Strider should be on as much as possible. |

It sure is convenient that you stopped liking that it takes two superstars to win after Jordan and Pippen left. |

It's probably also gotta be a bitch, since I don't see the Bulls gracing National TV anymore, and that's probably the only way you got to see them. I stopped following the New York Rangers when I couldn't get a game on TV(Stupid blackout rule that I still don't understand). Also, I agree with what you said about the NBA, which is definitely a part of the reason I stopped following the Knicks. They were still winning games at the time; it's just I couldn't stand a lot of players in the league, a guy like Shaq dominating after the league had been skilled Centers for so many years. and the players were unlikeable to me. I'll try watching a game once in awhile, but I can't stick to it. Plus, these guys with tattoos all over the place, it looks like prison ball. |

To be honest, about the national tv thing, even if they were on regularly, I wouldn't watch. I don't care for the NBA like I once did. I enjoyed it from about 6 years of age until 11. I kept watching after that, but only as a "casual observer," basically, I'd just root for the Bulls in the playoffs. When I was 10 I moved up to Saratoga and started playing hockey in the winter since that was the big sport in the area and really got in to it, and I love watching the NHL. It's fast and I love some of the big hits/fights that break out. Of course, I still put baseball and football ahead of the NHL, but not by much. If I had to rank my teams on a level of how much I care... 1.) Yankees 1A.) Jets 2.) Devils 3.) Albany River Rats 4.) Colombus Clippers 5.) Trenton Thunder 6.) Tampa Yankees 7.) Staton Island Yankees 8.) Chicago Bulls That's how far the NBA has fallen to me. There was a time where it would've been right there with baseball and football, quite a bit above hockey, but those times are long gone, and probably won't ever come back. Too many guys in the league that are easy to hate, and I just really don't get in to the games when I watch. |

All that said, you'd be right back if Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen were cloned and in Bulls uniforms again. Did you live downstate before Saratoga? |

I agree with ya, but why have the Bulls avatar in the sig? It gives the indication you're still a big Bulls follower. For whatever reason, I got no animosity towards Bulls fans nowadays. They've paid their dues seeing losers. It's the f*cking Cowboy fans and yeah, Yankee bandwagoners, that get on my nerves. |

Well, I got the Bulls in there because they were at one point one of my favorite teams, and I also like the logo, I just think it's pretty cool. I could probably swap it with an Albany River Rats one though. |

Don't care, their part of the NHL organization I root for, so I root for them as well. They have been pretty pathetic the last 5 years though, no doubt about that. But I don't take the minors as seriously as I do the professionals. I actually just watch the River Rats to go see and enjoy a hockey game. Hard as that may be to believe. |
