      Never has a show kept me into it consistantly and for as many years as the Shield. The 5th Season Premiered last night, and I gotta say, great friggin episode once again. Great symbolizism, great story-writting, I'm into the characters, the plot, everything. I even like Forrest Whitaker and his character. I don't know how they intend it, but I'm always rooting for Mackey. He killed an undercover the 1st episode of the series, but really since, they haven't portrayed his character in a way that I think he deserves to be brought to justice. I get the feeling this is the last season though and Vic will meet his end. Sorta like Tony Soprano, although Tony deserves his fate much worse than Vic.

The Shield is on my list of shows I have never seen, but intend on checking out on DVD. The commercials always look really good, but I didn't know about it starting at first, and don't like to watch shows out of order. I like to go in cold, knowing as little as possible. It was good right off the bat, starting with season one? I have some trust in FX now after Rescue Me.

You can follow it from any Season and not miss much in terms of the main storyline. The episodes are great though, so it's worth catching them all.

The Final Season so far is just playing on the first season when Vic and his team killed an undercover that was in with the FBI to bring them down from their corrupt methods(although effective). Forrest Whitaker has been brought in to bring them down, and he has evidence, which is one of Vic's partners, Lemenski, who was caught not handing in Heroin. He's trying to get him to flip and give them evidence, but the guys are all tight, and it's different turning a Cop on his partners than some thug, so it'll be real interesting to see. Whitaker even went to Vic's ex-wife outside of the school and was acting all buddy-buddy. He offered her a piece of gum, which she took, symbolzing that she might even get involved in bringing down Vic. It's looking very very good already

I love the symbolism on that show too. At the end of last night's episode, Vic and his partners are beating the sh*t out of some guy that whacked one of them in the head during a brawl. After they get done, Vic's walking out of the parking garage and he hears sirens passing and gives sort of a worried look, symbolic of the season.

I really got to find a Shield message board. There's so much to talk about with the show.

I don't know if I'm the only one hating Forrest Whitaker's character the more they show him probing Lem. I like him as an actor and his character is good, but I hate him simply for trying to bring down Vic and threatening prison to Lem to narc on his boys. Sometimes I wonder if people watch the show from different perspectives. I've always found the guys trying to catch Vic to be the antagonists, but some might consider Vic the main villian.

Supposedly, this season is the last and was extended to like 20 episodes from the usual 12-14. I'll finally have a few regular shows to watch, since most likely this will extend until the Sopranos premieres.

I forgot to add after Tuesday. They really don't dick around with the plot either. You have Lem getting wired and telling Vic then and there. 3rd episode in and Vic already knows Forrest Whitaker's character is trying to bring him down for the murder. I figured they'd go over like a full season before him knowing, like Tony with Pussy. The show gives no chance of changing the channel.

Nobody watches this show here?

Man, they pulled a swerve last week. The Strike Team made Forrest Whitaker look bad as hell, but now he's pissed as hell and is going to do some more intense stuff. I'll find it ironic if he frames Vic or something to bring him down that Vic got in trouble with for doing in the first place. I'd like a little more character development from Whittaker's character, since I really want to know why he's so obsessive about bringing down Vic without even knowing him, but I really liked the season so far as usual and like where it's going.

:please: Dude worked out like a fiend to get solid for that role. He's realistic as hell. A little short, but believable nonetheless. The Strike Team dudes are all jacked as hell too.

How about Forrest Whitaker throwing that fit last night? Kiefer Sutherland would be eating his teeth in moments
