Everytime I see a movie, I will come here and post what I thought of it in just a letter grading. If Im bored, I will watch any movie that catches my mind on T.V. or I'll watch a film from my collection. If people want to ask me anything about the film, I will respond to it in anyway I can. I might post back to back films if I didnt get the chance to get online when I first saw the movie or if I saw films back to back.

This is my current DVD collection.....

http://dvdaficionado.com/dvds.html?cat=1&s...&id=killakadafi

While most films in my collection are regarded as quality films, I do have a few bad movies. Most came as gifts from people or were blind buys(For example, "The Fast and The Furious " film and "The Scorpion King" were gifts, while some were blind buys like "Final Destination 2" because I liked the original). A few are guilty pleasures ("Bad Boys" for example). I haven't seen a lot of the DVDs in my collection yet, so most of the movies I'll rate will come from there.

But anyway, here goes....

Oldboy A

IMDB has it at 8.3/10. That puts it as #112 greatest movie of all time, according to the fans.

Before Sunrise B

This is a plain romantic film with dialogue only. If you tend to heavily dislike films like that, then I can not recommend this film for you.

Note:

This film starts out real slow. It tends to pick itself up about 40 minutes through. So if you're going to watch it, watch it entirely and do not discard it if you dislike how it starts.

I own the sequel as well. Funny thing is that while this movie had very good reviews, the sequel managed to get even better ones...rare for a sequel in filmography. I'll probably watch "Before Sunset" very soon, maybe by tomorrow.

IMDB has it at 7.9/10.

One of Oliver Stone's worst films. The acting was meh, which is incredibly dissapointing with the cast and hype sorrounding the film. The story just felt dragged along and it could've been done a lot shorter. It's one of those epics that really forces itself to be one. I wanted to fast foward, but it was on T.V. so I couldn't. :(

IMDB has it at 5.5/10.

Before Sunset A-

This movie is the sequel the the movie I rated earlier, "Before Sunrise". It takes place 9 year later. The film is a little less than 80 minutes, but the film is so great that you just don't want it to end. Again, this movie is all about Dialogue but is definitely better than the original in that aspect. When it ends, you'll probably say "WTF? It's over already?"......unless you hate it of course. Great film, IMO. One of the few sequels that's better than the original.

IMDB has it at 8.2/10. That puts it as the #143 best movie of all time, according to the fans.

Maria Full Of Grace B

Good movie. It's a Colombian film about drug mules. Girls are sent to america carrying drugs in their stomach, and in return are given a huge sum of money. Lots of things go wrong on the way.

The main actress in the film was nominated for "Best Actress" in the last Oscars.

IMDB has it at 7.7/10.

The film wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. A lot of funny things happened in the movie and Jenifer Tilly was suprisingly great here. I didn't like the direction it was heading at the end and ultimately it became stupid. Still funny and seeing a great performance is never bad, even if the film doesn't do that justice.

IMDB has it at 5.3/10.

Saw 2 B

Sequel to the horror film "Saw". The story continues with Jigsaw capturing 8 people and putting them into a house. If they don't get out in 2 hours, the gas in the house will destroy their body from the inside, killing them. IMO, this sequel is one of the rare ones that doesn't fall behind from the original by much, if any. The twists are back and like the original, you'll most likely not even know what they're going to be. The acting is much better here as well.

If you liked the original and horror films, give it a try. If you disliked "Saw", then you'll probably like this film even less.

Note: The media critics really didnt like the film but the fans treated it the other way around. Just like the original, I can see a huge cult following this movie.

IMDB has it at 7.0/10.

I'd give it a B+ I guess, since I rated it a 8/10 and part II a 7/10 on IMDB..

I tend to like films like this over many other horror films. The sequel has a advantage over the original in acting and deaths, IMO.

Underworld: Evolution B-

Solid sequel of Underworld. Selene and Michael are now on the run for killing her vampire family. Marcus, the original vampire, tries to get vengeance and bring his brother(Werewolf) back from eternal prison. The movies was pretty interesting but did get a bit cheesy in some scenes. I'd advise people who liked the original to see it. Even if you didnt like the original, this one has a much different story...so i can see people giving the series a second chance.

IMDB has it at 6.7/10.

Cursed D

Im not even going to review this movie. The previews make it look better than it is, so do not follow it. Just horrible, especially from a guy who makes original films like Wes Craven. One of the worst horror films I've ever seen, even if I don't tend to like werewolf movies.

IMDB has it at 4.8/10.

Yeah, I know. Problem is that I have a girlfriend who hates most of the movies I like, which are the movies that are reviewed greatly. Cursed I watched on my own, but that's cuz I was bored and they were giving it on Starz last night. I'll try watching more movies from my collection, specifically when she isn't around. I have around 50 movies on it that I haven't seen.

Lost In Translation B+

The movie takes place in Japan and is about two Americans, an actor (Bill Murray), currently doing commercials in Japan and a young woman (Scarlett Johansson), who is with her husband while he does photo shoots there. The two (Murray and Johansson) meet in a bar at their hotel ...and express to each other how much their life sucks at the moment. Along the way they start to develop a great friendship and start to hang out while Murray is in the country.

The Cinematography, Acting, and Plot here is great. It's not really for everyone though, since it moves at a very slow pace and it might require you to watch it a few times to actually get the point of the movie. No action at all, just strictly dialogue.

In reality, can't really recommend anyone to buy this right away. I liked it a lot and I'm happy that I bought it, but I would still advise everyone to rent this first. It's in the same category as "Being John Malkovic", where you'll either love or hate the movie.

IMDB has it at 7.9/10. That puts it as the #224 best movie of all time, according to the fans.

That's another reason I liked it a lot. I thought the ending was going to be corny but it was actually great.

I saw it on Encore one time but I fell asleep before it got far. The last scene I remember was Bill Murray filming the commercial with the Japanese guy giving him a hard time.

The Jacket C+

This movie is about a Gulf war veteran (Adrien Brody) who has amnesia after being shot in the head by a kid during the golf war. After he returns home to Vermont, he hitchhikes until someone picks him up(While having amnesia). When a cop stops them, the man kills the cop while the cop accidently wounds Jack Starks (Adrien Brody). The man leaves his gun infront of the wounded Starks and leaves. After Starks is framed, he goes to jail and is found not guilty because he is "insane". When he reaches an asylum, he is put into "The Jacket" where he can see flashbacks and also travel to the future and see how things be for himself and the people he cares about. He has 4 days to fix everything before he dies...and from there the story goes.

I saw a lot of potential in this film, but it just isn't my type. Brody did a great job acting and Keira Knightley does a good job as well, but the story is just plain boring most of the time. It also confused me in many parts and some plot holes can be seen if you pay close attention. Also, I tried looking for info on somethings I couldn't understand from the movie and not even they were of much help. From what I've seen, this is another love or hate film. I don't hate it, but it's a forgettable movie for me.

IMDB has it at 6.9/10.

Hide and Seek C-

A bad movie(I don't like summarizing bad sh*t). Not as bad as "Godsend", but Robert DeNiro must be desperate making these movies.

IMDB has it at 5.6/10.

Haha, I just watched that or at least attempted to watch that movie the other day, and it was horrid.

Heard Hide and Seek was weird and not that good either.

Would you call it a Deniro whore job? Just doing something for the sake of a paycheck. He's done a lot of that of recent

That's actually a very good comparison. I do feel Secret Window was better than this, even if it wasn't good either.

There is good reason to believe that. I mean, you can tell if a movie is not going to make any sense by reading the script. It's sad that he's had to make crap as of late. He is making a movie with a great cast though, so that could redeem him.
