speaking of books, which ive only started reading lately, i believe there's an installment of the godfather that takes place between 1 and 2 that was recently released. i saw it at kmart. its something like godfather returns, and the storyline isn't about hyman roth, so i assume its between 1 and 2. just for the big fans if they dont know |

50 first dates sucked. i liked pretty much every other movie he's made, aside from his attempts at serious acting in punch drunk love and spanglish |

I have a couple of Puzo's Godfather series books, but who knows when I will ever get around to reading them. Maybe when I have summers off in a couple of years. I also have Nicolas Pileggi's Wiseguy, which Scorsese turned into GoodFellas. I picked up Sammy The Bull Gravano's biography when it first came out and I was working in a bookstore, but haven't read that either. They're all on my list to eventually read. |

I'll let you know what is has to say after I read it. A lot of times the underboss has to do more of the dirty work, so it's entirely possible.
It's good, has a killer cast, but it's definitely not in my pantheon. I actually don't own it, but I saw it in the theater and a couple of times since on HBO. |

well, from what i gathered gotti was a guy that didn't look to kill unless absolutely necessary. supposedly, when his son was ran over by his neighbor, he understood it was an accident and wanted no retribution. gravano was supposedly sadistic, and looked for reasons to kill, almost in the tony d from goodfellas persona, and did the deed as a favor. i dont know though. i'm thinking i should read on that and the wiseguys book would clear some stuff up to me as well. i always wondered why deniro started whacking everybody over money that wasn't even his idea to heist. was he just that f*cking selfish? something didnt compute |

what did you guys think of once upon a time in america? it was a long movie, but there was nothing classic about it to me to rate it highly, although it does get its due from people more than i would give it |

I'm actually one of the few Punch Drunk Love fans out there. It was different, and I give big points for that. |

i liked the longest yard a lot. i might have it along with other sandler classics. wedding singer was real good too, but got a little corny. i'd probably say billy madison is my favorite if put on the spot |

Billy Madison is my favorite with Happy Gilmour and Big Daddy tied for second. I didn't hate Spanglish. He did his job in it. He handled a serious role. I haven't gotten around to seeing Punch Drunk Love yet. I like Wedding Singer and The Waterboy, Mr. Deeds has grown on me, and Little Nicky is the biggest piece of crap I have ever seen. How did you like it over all of his others, Amit? I know it's not your genre, but why Little Nicky?? I haven't seen The Longest Yard yet. I need to see 50 First Dates again because I was messed up when I saw it and don't remember much. |

Little Nicky is one of my favorite Adam Sandler movies too. Happy Gilmore and The Waterboy were trash. Billy Madison was good though. |

I've never watched an Adam Sandler movie. It might prove me wrong if I saw a couple, but I don't like his style of comedy. |

i like little nicky honestly. the more i watch happy gilmour, the more im bored with it. anger management is good too, but could have been better. i thought bulletproof with damon wayans was pretty funny as well. |

I forgot about Anger Management because I have only seen in a couple of times. I need to pop that in sometime. Amit, that's why I had high hopes for Little Nicky. It had a great cast, but was just complete crap. I agree Happy gets boring if you watch it too much. That's why Billy Madison is best. You could watch it 100 times and laugh everytime. I am going to revise things and say Big Daddy is my clear cut 2nd favorite Sandler movie and move Happy to 3rd. I don't know why I had them tied in the first place. I hate ranking things, which is why you will rarely see my participate in listings of favorite movies, players, etc. I have a pantheon for everything, but have trouble ranking things past #1. |

the commercials for little nicky didn't do it a service at all. usually i want to go see sandler movies, i waited to see that on tbs, since anytime i saw a preview for that flick, it just looked stupid. waterboy oversold that movie in the commercials. it gave away some of the funniest parts. |

That's why I try to avoid trailers for movies I plan to see and like to go into movies cold. Comedies' jokes are giving away in trailers and I want to know as little as possible about the plot for dramas, suspense, thrillers, etc. |

it definitely has become that way. movies have less and less hilarious parts, and if they have trailers, they usually give one, two, or many away in it. there's something about mary really suprised me though; the trailor didn't give much of it away. it was hilarious |
