After Willie was tossed tonight in Washington, Sandy Alomar was given the team. Glavine pitching in the 8th, 1 out, bullpen starts to move a little. Who gets up to warm up? Shingo Takatsu and Hamulack. While Tim is our only lefty, the warming up of Takatsu really leads me to believe that Peterson is responsible for the bullpen moves. If it is Peterson who has the blind loyalty to Takatsu, Graves, and Looper, maybe he should be on my list of coaches who need be replaced. The list now consists of Manny Acta, and Rick Down. Also something that bothered me is that a pregame interview revealed that Willie does not look at stats AT ALL. He had no idea how well Heilman had being doing since the break because he hadn't looked at the statbook in "a long time." I hope that was just in regard to Heilman, because if it wasn't - why is he managing! Maybe Peterson doesn't look at stats either. Takatsu's ERA for September is 1.67, but his WHIP?? 2.06, and batters are hitting .333 off of him. |

I think what might help the Mets become contenders next season is a couple of things. A new and even better manager, a better coaching staff, and 2 or 3 more Big Name players. I think all that could help make the Mets become playoff hopefuls next year. Do you guys think so? |

3 point plan for making the playoffs: 1. Sign Wagner, the Mets already have the basis for a good pen next year with Heilman, Padilla, Bell, and Ring. A stopper like Wagner is needed 2. Dont throw money at worthless players. The team is fine with the young IF of Wright, Reyes, Hernandez/Keppinger, and Jacobs. No need to go out and get anything else. If anything package Diaz, Cameron, and Bannister to the Reds for Dunn (Or something to that effect) 3. For Christmas buy Willie Randolph "Managing an effective baseball team for Dummies" |

I agree with point 1 but that's it, the mets need another big bat and one not named Adam Dunn, they need Manny, plain and f*cking simple!!! |
