Report: Palmeiro says teammate gave him substance

Quote:

Rafael Palmeiro reportedly told a three-member baseball arbitration panel that a teammate gave him a substance that might be responsible for his positive steroid test, a source told the Baltimore Sun.

A second source told the Sun that Palmeiro named the teammate when he presented his defense when appealing his suspension.

Quote:

Palmeiro said that he would never take a performance-enhancing substance intentionally after he tested positive for the steroid stanozolol. However, experts have said that is is unlikely stanozolol could have entered his system by accident.

I can't imagine him ever getting in at this point. He's done more damage to his reputation by running from the truth as any admission could have done.

This latest development is just pitiful. He's going to throw a teammate under the bus for this.

Raffy, its over. Let it go. Nobody will believe you anymore.

Even if it's true, he has to realize that at this point it can do him no good to snitch. Nobody will believe you and you come out looking like a snake.

Why can't people just follow Bonds and keep themselves clean?

ESPN Story

Quote:

Rafael Palmeiro said a vitamin he received from Miguel Tejada might have caused the positive test for steroid use that led to the first baseman's suspension, an assertion his Baltimore Orioles teammate dismissed as implausible.

Palmeiro said he received vitamin B-12 from Tejada, a person familiar with Palmeiro's unsuccessful grievance hearing to overturn the suspension told The Associated Press Thursday on condition of anonymity because the proceedings were secret.

B-12?? How dumb does he think we all are?

Yeah, I accidentally ingested steroids when I ate steak last night. What a dumbass. He just keeps digging a hole.

There was some debate as to whether he was a shoe-in even with the 500 HRs and 3000 hits. Now add this.... Not a fu<king chance.

It's a real shame too - I always though he was one of the game's real good guys.

BTW - Bonds could test positive 28 times, and I'd still vote him in.

McGwire, Sosa and Raffy will not be in the HOF. You cannot erase their numbers from the record books but you can deny them acess to the Hall.

That works for me.

By the way, Baltimore told Palmeiro to clean out his locker this weekend and go home for good. He wanted to come back to the team soon.

First, I was in kind of a shock because of what he done in his career.

Now, he is a bastard. He is trying to swerve things on Tejada so the spotlight come of him. Thank goodness, the O's made him go home. Take him off the HOF ballot.
