How the hell can you take out Wakefield? That guy can pitch 12 innings if needed to

Cause Tito is an idiot. The Division is over and Im not being "473 like" , I mean it, DIVISION OVER, Wildcard probally over

I didn’t see the game, so please explain. All I know is the Sox led 4-2 going to the bottom of the 8th. Then it was 7-4 Tampa and good bye Bosox playoff hopes.

I agree with your comment about Wakefield. If his knuckleball was still dancing why take him out? Knuckleball pitchers can pitch forever.

Exactly...Him and Livan can go 11-12 innings if needed, because they don't throw their arm off like Jason Schmidt or Kerry Wood...

I like Francona, weird as it sounds, but this decision was questionable...The bullpen has been widely known as a problem for Boston, keep in Wakefield...But im not gonna complain

The Sox are going to have to run the table against the Os and Jays to have a shot going into the last weekend of the season. They're a combines 12-17 against those teams. Theo was probably told by ownership to not take on any more salary so he sat on his ass instead of trying to give the Sox a chance during the stretch drive. The owner of the Sox is using the WS win as an opportunity to cut back on spending, counting on the WS win for a few years of grace. It was like the Met’s ownership that used their trip to the WS as a chance to keep the salary down but keep fan interest up. They could have had both A-Rod and Sheff that year but chose not to spend the money. (Sheff was available in a trade for J. Payton).

He never said they weren't trying, just that they were trying as hard as they would or spend as much if it wasn't for the W.S title last year.

Of course they want to win. But the desperation is gone. So salary becomes a larger issue. Don't you think the Mets wanted to win when they turned down the addition of A-Rod and Sheff?

If that is the stupidest thing you ever heard then you have been living a sheltered life or you have f*cked up sense of priorities. Most owners, except for Steinbrenner, are businessmen first and fans second. I can show you countless examples where the owners would ride the wave of a successful season and put a self imposed Cap on what they will spend based on what they deem is necessary. So Theo may have been limited by salary considerations in making moves, whereas if the Sox didn’t win last year the Cap may been raised.

Another issue is the farm system. Haven’t you ever heard of GMs not wanting to strip the farm system so they don’t pull the trigger on a trade that would have given them a much better chance of winning this year? If they were more desperate to win then they would strip the farm system.

I think you need another bj from Stretchy Pants. Actually, your Redsox may be giving you a bj right now.
