Passed away this evening at the age of 70 after a long battle with Leukemia.

In addition to being an offensive threat he was an outstanding defensive 1st baseman. The trade for him was the key to the Mets Championship year. RIP Don Clendenon, those of use who saw you play will never forget what you meant to the Mets.

Too young to see him play but i've read and heard alot about him, he was a key part of the 1969 world series team, may he rest in peace!!!
