The same way we are gonna try to pressure Warner. Berry, Dansby and Wilson can all bring pressure. To to shake him up and get his footwork all out of whack the way Washington and Baltimore did last year. A couple ways we could approach this, -Running draws and misdirections with Tiki. This will always work to slow a team down early on, and its what we tried to do last year and it worked for a half. But as the 3rd quarter rolls around passing the ball becomes more of a neccessity and they can go back to their pressure schemes (the way they did last year). So thats out. Screens, quick outs, bootlegs, same basic concept as running with Tiki just to get them to adjust and stay balanced. But again, you cant do that in the 2nd half. And the difference between what Washington and Baltimroe did and what they'll try to do is.....Eli hadnt progressed enough to handle too much of the offense and this was our only option. Attack down the field, If they play a zone coverage Shockey will eat them alive. They dont have the all around athleticisim to do that all day. So I figure they gotta play some man, and that means Plaxico Burress has more than half a foot on David Macklin. Which also means hes getting safety help. Which also means Antrel Rolle isnt bc/ Wilson should be on Shockey. Antrel Rolle wasnt taken as the 1st CB in the draft bc/ he lacks downfield step for step speed that Adam Jones has (although hes the better all around CB). Get the ball downfield to Toomer and Shockey early in the game and it will make the rest of the day so much god damn easier |

I'd chuck it a lot to open. Lots of intermediate passes mixed in with screens. Try to move it methodically and "KEEP METRICULATIN' THE BALL DOWN THE FIELD." I think they'll fear the run the most for the duration of the game since Eli is still a 6/9 QB and has to prove it. Use some PA on 'em and attack the intermediate area cuz 2 of their 3 linebackers lack athletism and you might-could fool them and the other, Dansby, doesn't have much experience. But I think the running game will win this game so that'll ease them off for the second off. After that, short dumpoffs and lot's of runs. I don't wanna attempt too many deep passes because of our personell and what they have on d-line. They've got 3 guys who are capable pass rushers. |
