Of all NFL teams last year...Us Jets fans had the longest wait over the offseason. The pain and way the season ended still just has that bad taste in our mouths. But now the new season starts for us and this Jets team gives us unlimited confidence... This Jets team is one we can actually predict to go real far and possibly Detroit...This is our window, right now, 2006. This is the BEST Jets team put together in YEARS, and now it is time for them to get over that hump and bring back the Lombardi Trophy...Back to Hempstead. Today it all begins, a new offensive coordinator, an old friend back with us, playmakers all over the field on the defensive side of the ball. This team has what it takes to go all the way, it just comes down to TWO things and two things only...The health of the franchise, Chad Pennington and Herman Edwards. Yes Herm has made some questionable decisions in his Jets tenure, but he is arguably the best Jets coach of ALL-TIME, yes, that means better than Parcells. He has done something NO other Jets coach has done in history, make the playoffs three times in four years. But enough about the past, it's allabout today... The Kansas City Chiefs boast the BEST offensive line in football, the best tight end in football, arguably the best running back in football when healthy, and an underrated quarterback. It will be a huge test trying to get pressure on Trent Green with the lineman KC has, but they are going against one of the better defensive lines in football even without Jason Ferguson. The Chiefs have made some very nice additons to a horrid defense, most notably Patrick Surtain who matches up very well on Laveranues Coles, also adding Sammy Knight and former defensive rookie of the year Kendrell Bell, not to mention drafting the best defensive player in the draft, Derrick Johnson. The Jets MUST pound the run game at a weak defensive line, Martin will get his yards for sure, but Pennington must execute and utilize all of his weapons to get points. The defense will probably have it's biggest test of the year, though it is only week 1, it is against probably the best offense in football, no disrespect to the Colts... The Jets will be at one of the most difficult venues in the league, Arrowhead stadium, the sea of red. It's a great test this early and one we are all looking forward too. So Jets fans, expect some messups today, but expect this team to show heart and a demeanor it has never had before because this team has confidence in eachother to make it to Superbowl XL...Get on the bus It's gonna be great and we're getting jittery, so with a little more than 2 hours left until game-time... J-E-T-S JETS!! JETS!! JETS!!!    |

I'm not trolling, Happy, I root for the Jets. If I was indifferent, I wouldn't even be watching the game (no fantasy concern). And don't look at it like I'm talking sh*t and putting my team up. The Giants ain't going anywhere either and I expect them to finish with a worse record than the Jets. Ya'll ain't the '03 Patriots. |
