I'll knock stuff Sheff says and sometimes for his dogging it in the outfield, but I could never say a bad thing about him as a hitter. That's what I was saying to onebyone the other day when he said he is overswinging while in this slump. I've never liked Sheffield the walking headline quote machine, but I have wanted his bat in this lineup since Paulie retired after 2001. I'm glad they got back into the playoff race when they did because I wanted him dealt at the deadline if they were out of it, just because of how much value he has to a team in the playoff mix. Great job by Sheffield.

Wow, talk about some bleeders and close calls in the infield there. Twice there could have been double plays (Jorge's bouncer back to the pitcher and the line drive by Lawton) what close calls there were! What a game!!!!
