I'm so glad he came through today. I had to stay up all night and this usually kicks me in the ass, since I'm not a young rooster anymore. |

I actually snuck out to my car to listen to the 6th inning. He got into a small jam and got out of it. I thought he'd be done after that, but he ate another inning for the team. I love when starters go at least 7. Chacon has been unbelievable. |

Agreed 100%! I hate to think how far back in the wild card race this team would be without him right now. He's been much better than anyone could have imagined. If the playoffs started today I'm starting chacon ahead of RJ without question. |

Earlier today, I was gonna say, "Everything has been swell, but I don't like the fact that his fastball is around 87. The ESPN.com scouting report said that he used to throw 92-94 before being moved to the bullpen. He messes around with breaking balls, off-speed stuff, and trickeration. And some luck has been involved. One of these starts, his breaking ball won't be as sharp and he's gonna have to rely on the fastball. And knowing the way he gets into jams, he's gonna get lit up. Lit up, ugly bad." The only reason I didn't post it is because I forgot. He shut me the f*ck up, atleast for another week. |

I don't think any "Sunshiner" ever said they were against adding a pitcher like Chacon, just against trading away anybody substantive to get him. Oh, and don't break your arms patting yourself on the back, the VC stood behind Jose Contreras and Randy Johnson, to name a few. |

Shacon is a bend but not break type of guy. He's a real warrior. I'd have no worries giving the ball to him in a postseason game. |

Chacon is the one pitcher who has come to the Yankees and actually been much better... and that's saying a lot! Consider Irabu, Weaver, Vazquez, RJ, Pavano, Wright (?) just to name a few. Most pitchers come here highly heralded and suck. Even Roger Clemens sucked his first year here. :annoyed: |

yeah, definitely. i think it was to his advantage to come here with no hooplah and no expectations. hes been doing this all unexpectedly by the majority of fans, and that makes it even better. |
