yeah, a righthanded hitter past his prime in yankee stadium. doesnt add up. i dont mind him defensively, but if your trying to get a catcher that can field, molina or ramon hernandez fits better. and if you want piazza to dh, there are better options

So I was like, "yeah" and he's all like "Uh-huh". So I'm like "Whatever" and he's like "Ohhhhhhhh my God" and I'm I'm like "Ohhh, my God." And then he has the nerve to be to say, "Whatever". I was like this close to going postal. He is like such an ass sometimes. Grrrrr!

I hate to bring up jokes I've made in the past, but I cracked myself up with something like this on the MLB forum. Ray and I were going at it and I captioned a bunch of fruity looking Piazza pictures and I was funny as f*ck on that. One of my best.

Don't mind him defensively? He's worse than Posada, and NEVER throws anybody out.

I want no part of that move.

Cuz the Yankees have no interest in a washed up DH who plays catcher. Well, he doesn't really play it, he's just positioned there. He's been washed up offensively for 3 years. Bad as Posada has been, he's probably still having a better season. You can re-sign your fruitcake "legend" and keep him around for sentimental purpose. Cuz aferall, "Mikey still puts fannies in the seats!"

the arm is putrid. but any fair scouting report of piazza will tell you he gets too much flack based on that. he can call a game and he knows how to catch. hes just not a good athlete to play anywhere else to cover that arm.

its gotta be frustrating to see teams like the marlins run all over piazza. id probably not like him behind the plate either. but in that same breathe, the guy the yankees have, jorge posada, doesnt always throw well, and he cant play catcher for the life of him. piazza will block the plate, piazza will get down and dirty. piazza knows hes not a great athlete and will do what he can to play it to the best of his ability.

Piazza calls a good game and blocks balls well. In contrast he cant throw and he struggles with that catch-tag transfer on plays at the plate.

He's no better than average as far as all around defense

thats fair. most people dont even give him that much credit. not being a met fan, i ignore that arm more than i should. being a catcher, you should be able to throw. quite honestly, thats all i think posada can do, and hes erratic with it. give me a mike matheny, brad ausmus, bengie molina any day

I'm telling you guys don't overlook Jojima from the Softbank Hawks in PL League. Guarantee that he'll do better than Jorge. What did Kay say? Jorge batting like .080 with runners in scoring position with 2 outs. Jorge is done. He will have isolated good games, but the idea is consistency. I'll bet my bento that you guys would be very happy with Jojima.....

Sign him up for a crash course in English right now, show me an interview of him speaking in at least coherent English, have him work out here against big leaguers, then I will think about it. Until then, I don't want him.

if his defense is good and the scouts like this guy and were not able to acquire bengie molina or ramon hernandez, sign me up. ive said it a few times before; baseball is a game of signals. also, its one of those games you dont need to speak the language to understand and communicate with others. i just want to know hes smart. if hes a japanese posada, i dont want that.
