I've been trying to escape as well, I hung on longer then anyone...Vin of all people. Yes, we're probably in for a huge dissapointment, but there is nothing we can do about it! :furious2:

i will say this though. as much as i doubt this team, whether its making the postseason or making a splash in the post-season, id much rather have them there than not at all. that feeling in october you get when you know the yankees are on that night in a meaningful game is special.

 :agent: No doubt, I love football as well, it's like a holiday every Sunday during the season, but October baseball and baseball in general is the best! It's like a part of your life as much as your job and family, the everyday grind...you know what I'm sayin'? :agent:

You said it! I've turned down sex to watch Yankee playoff baseball.
I've walked out of a job (mid-shift) during the 2001 World Series.
If they don't make the playoffs this year, I don't know what i'll do with myself.

exactly. baseball makes the weekdays interesting in october, save monday, especially that first tuesday when the yankees would usually play. if its sunday, i dont give a sh*t if theres baseball on or not unless its game 7 or a tight series.

Post-game sex
And pre-game. During the '99 playoffs this girl I was "dating" kept wondering why i'd have to leave her dorm just before eight (after an afternoon of "it.")
Then one night I asked her to come over at around 11:30, a game was still going on, and she figured it out.
Surprisingly, she stayed, and the clinching game of the '99 ALCS will always be remembered fondly in my heart.

Yeah, a girl I was seeing in '96 had to wait until game 1 was over since the Yankees hadn't been in the series since '81. Of course the Saturday rain out of game 1 proved quite fruitful.
