With a win today, the Mets could pick up a 1/2 game on the Braves. The Braves are once again the team to beat because the Nationals run production finally caught up with them |

i think many people expected washington to go down the tubes (even me) Atlanta will get the division now, the only question is who will get the wildcard as soon as washington completly falls apart. I sure hope it is us |

My question is how long can Washington last? I hope its long enough to give the Braves a run for their money |

What I hope doesnt happen is a HUGE winning streak happens and then Omar does something stupid like trade Petit or Milledge for some LH bullpen guy |

there is absolutly no one available this year, meaning that mediocre players are extremly valuable (ya i know what you are gonna say, suck it) I do not want to be buyers come the deadline. |

Why would I say suck it? Anyway, I agree, I would much rather sell off a piece such as Glavin or Ishii. One of those Addition by subtracion things |

This is gonna be one of those noteworthy posts... You couldnt pay someone to take Ishii, he'll probably be designated for assignment in 2 weeks. There isnt a whole lotta sense in trading Glavine, if we survive this year we're gonna survive on pitching. He's not what he was, but at this point he pretty much like Trachsel. In that, if you trade Glavine (likely for prospects.....) and Trachsel comes back you're STILL gonna have that "we're f*cked unless Peavy is hungover" games ever 5 days. Its not worth it |

i think evevrything depends on seo, if seo rebounds nicely i would shop glavine around because seo with a splitter and a curve could do the job glavine is doing right now |

You think......maybe....kind of..... So why not take what you know you have in Glavine and deal Seo for either the 2B or LRP we're going to need. If it was me id take Diaz, Seo and a prospect from another team to take a run at Schmidt and deal Glavine in a 3 way. As unlikely as that is, the safest thing to do is keep Glavine. |

What the mets need is a bat, Soriano is a guy i would look at but his home/road splits are terrible!!! |

Soriano would be good if everyone else in the lineup got on base 40% of the time. The fact is he gets to hit in one of the best hitter parks in baseball and thats boosts is stats. He is a lot like Reyes except his fielding isnt as good and he has a lot more power |

Soriano is still a major upgrade over Cairo and Anderson but he does scare me, like i said in my previous post, he hits great at home but not in other ballparks!!! |
