Piazza has been dropped to the 6th spot in the lineup with Wright hitting 5th. |

Through three Benson has labored on the mound but the Padres have not taken advantage of their opportunities. The Eunuchs have been their impotent self looking overmatched by the Padre Pitcher. No score after three, but with the way the Mets are swinging the bat I don’t see how they can win this game. The Eunuchs need more then one big time hitter in this lineup. They could use about three of them since Beltran looks mediocre. . |

The Padres scored a run on a hr by their SS Greene in the top of the 5th and the Mets answered with a hr from Floyd in the bottom of the fifth. Up until that point Lawrence had not allowed a baserunner. After 5, 1-1 game. |

Benson has got into a good groove and is pitching a good game. The Mets wasted a one out single and stolen base from Reyes in the bottom of the sixth. Cameron went down swinging (they have got to get him out of the 2 hole) and Beltran grounded out weakly to first. I'm starting to wonder if Pete knows something we don't know about Beltran. |

good chance benson wouldve gone nine if it wasnt for the first inning, but all in all i think he deserves the BJ. anyway minky has a chance batting against lawbrink in the 7th with 1st and 2nd 1 out. |

Mr DP does his usual thing and destroys the inning. Doug M. is one dimensional ball player. Great field, no hit. Still 1-1 after 7. |

that caught stealing proves to be big because the padres got the next two hitters on base. Its up to hernandez now to get the final out of the 7th |

Koo doesn't get one of the three left handed hitters he faced out. The only reason the Padres haven't scored is because Roberts was thrown out at 2nd. BTW the replay shows Roberts was safe. Padres with 1st and 3rd with 2 out. Koo out of the game and Hernandez in. |

Cameron and Beltran make outs with two men on base in the bottom of the 8th. Cameron is back to trying to pull everything and should be dropped from the 2 hole and Beltran, so far, continues to be a flop. 1-1 end of 8. |

The Eunuchs again waste an opportunity to score with one out. This club just cannot hit. Cairo is a good player for a team like the Yankees with tremendous offense. With the Mets he is wasted. He is not good enough to be a every day 2nd basemen on a building club where you have to depend on him. We does this club continue to go with these old farts who are not getting the job done. All you need is a couple of old farts off the bench and that’s it. 1-1 end of 9. |

The Mets again waste a man in scoring position in bottom of the 10th. Jesus this is a gutless team and needs an overhaul of their lineup. You can’t be a contender with the pussies in this lineup. A little pressure and they fold like a house of cards. 1-1. |
