Acquired outfielder Jody Gerut from the Cleveland Indians for outfielder Jason Dubois. |

Little suprised, Gerut's been very good for Cleveland and Dubois was sent back down to AAA with Patterson. |

It might be one of those odd cases where a team like Cleveland is willing to deal Gerut if they don't think he will play enough and is not suitable for a part-time role in exchange for a guy with less upside but better for the bench role. |

Crisp and Sizemore are set in left and center for the next 10 years, I figured they'd move Casey Blake and have Gerut play RF before moving Gerut. |

my take on this trade since im around the area and i do follow the indians is that dubois has more upside. gerut never really had any outstanding minor league contributions. he kind of shocked the fans with a really underrated 2003. since hes been an pretty mediocre for two straight years so the thought of 2003 as a fluke seems to be the main belief. dubois has big league power. he can mash. in jacobs field he has 30 + power. |

you overrate gerut. thats ok since a lot of people did. he's already 28 years old past the prime of big leaguers generally. this was a great trade by the tribe. |

I like the deal. I just hope Gerut can stay healthy. Dubois just wasn't cuttin' it for the North Siders. Patterson might be next. |

you just traded a 26 year old coming off a 31 hr triple a campaign last season whom can only improve with major league experience for a 27, 28 year old whom has pretty much peaked. maybe the lack of strikeouts is what the cubs are looking for. |

Dubois is a poor outfielder though. |
