Take a WS winner remove their closer due to injury, remove their ace pitcher due to injury, when their ace comes back they make him their closer (was that the genius Theo’s idea or Francona’s idea) and remove their 2nd best pitcher through FA and what do you have? Normally a team with two chances for the playoffs, slim and none. But wait, look at the Orioles, no pitching, look at the Yankees, pitchers hurt, look at the Rangers, ass wipes for starting pitchers and what do you have? In a league where most of the pitchers are of little league quality the Redsox indeed have a legitimate shot. So if the Redsox can get themselves a closer and return Schilling to the starting staff they have a real shot at the playoffs.

The Balance of power may have just shifted with the Orioles getting Brunett. They also get Bedard back today. If Burnett pitches to his capabilities that is a dominant one two punch the Orioles have. The Redsox have to make a deal. The Yankees just have to get healthy.

I don't like the Bosox, but I can still assess their chances realistically. In the end no matter how much hitting you have it all comes down to pitching and defense. That is why I think the Angels will get to the WS.

I still like Chicagos chances out of the central. Real tough rotation, throwing Garland, Buerhle, and Garcia in a short series is tough to match up with.

Mazilli will find a way to f*ck it up. He can't manage his way out of a paper bag.

Yes, yes, I know, the Red Sox won with Terry Francona managing last year, but the Orioles ain't the 2004 Red Sox.

But how about the Orioles stepping up and Burnett produces? Yankees will just have to do better. :D
