The guy is a STARTING pitcher and he gives us ONE inning. One f*cking inning. I knew this was a blowout loss going in, but this is a "take one for the team" game. This a-hole should be out there till he gets to 140 pitches (does anyone care about his arm or future?). If it means we lose 38-0 nothing and he gives up all the runs, so be it. We've got 2 f*cking starters right now. May is ass but we can't even afford to use him in a game like this. He should be saved for another wasted game. The Yankees will score 2 runs to pull within 6 of the Red Sox and and we'll be seeing Tanyon Sturtze at some point in this game. :no1: |

He is an idiot for having Cano batting 2nd. Put Giambi there with his insane OB ability, so he can have protection with Sheff. |

Redding or Torre? I'd love to kill 2 birds (well 1 bird and 1 piece of sh*t) with 1 bullet. Both those clowns will be costing us for the next 2-3 games. Sometimes you have to accept a loss and think ahead and ignore how it'll look to the fans and media. I'm sure the players know it. |

Man, the lineup has nothing to do with this now. We could have the '27 lineup right now and we'd be getting blown out with Redding and May pitching. |

No, I don't think so. I'd be really pissed to see Giambi batting 2nd. I agree with Strider on Redding. He should have forced him to go 3-4 innings, whatever the score became. May has to stay in here for awhile now. You can't mix and match. Melky is clearly over his head. It's time to send him back to Columbus for the rest of the season. |

Cano and his .313 OB percentage doesn't help out when you have RBI men like Sheffield after him. Giambi only gets on base, put the man to use. It doesn't help the Yanks at all if Giambi is on base for Posada or Melky. Torre is an idiot for taking out Redding obviously. If the Yankees get killed early on tommorow, then the scrubs wont play and good RP will be put out there to waste. Melky should have been sent down before this game anyway. |

Meh, he used to be. I don't consider him an RBI guy until he has a .300 average and his 2B total goes back up to like it was in his 1st year here. |

Mas, I've already said what I think about you wanting Giambi at the 2 instead of Cano. But for those who don't know: I disagree. I want as much speed at the top as possible. We're not stealing bases (Cap ain't on the grind no mo') so I atleast want 2 people hitting ahead of Sheffield and A-Rod who can take the extra base on a hit and score on a double. Cano can do that. Plus he hits the ball hard, pulls most of his hits, and he's got a lot of doubles. I understand what you mean about Giambi's OBP, but if you're gonna say that, then you might as well want him to leadoff. I think Giambi's qualities are best suited for the 6-7th spot. He has the power (atleast right now, right now) to drive him in some runs and his OBP gets a runner on base for the bottom of the lineup. I don't want him up at the 2, runners at 1B and 2B, Sheffield hits a double to the gap and we score 1 run.
His average is on its way up to .300 and doubles isn't the only indication of power. I'm sure Ichiro, Damon, and 'em have lots of 2Bs. He's been hitting HRs lately. |

Let's just hope he finishes off with similiar numbers that he had in his 1st year here. If he goes back to his old form(last year and the beginning of this year), it aint going to work him batting 6th or 7th. |

Well he's not going to hit .314 with 41 HR and 122 RBI, but if he could finish up with 25 HR and 75 RBI and hit around .280-.290, that's a nice comeback from an absolutely dreadful start. |

Nice job, Joe. Much good these pitching changes have done. They're really accomplished something other than blowing the other arms we'll need for the other blowout games coming up. I hate ya'll for not hating him. |

Yes. The game was over before it started and even the Sunshiniest poster (you) would have said it. Why waste the arms? Keep that loser in there and make him run up a Cubanesque pitch count. He's getting atleast the MLB minimum to do NOTHING. The least he could do is take one for the team.
You don't hate him more than me. And what's funny is how most fans are still on that bullsh*t about "He's untouchable. He's built up equity." Its just me, you, and Amit. And I don't even know if Amit loathes him. He hates Mel more than Joe. |

Agreed, Cano's OBP is putrid. He may be slow but Giambi is one of the best in the league at getting on base. If not Giambi, at least Bernie. Cano makes no sense in the #2 hole. :wall: |
