Redding made one start for Triple-A Columbus on July 7 vs. Norfolk, allowing six hits and two earned runs in five innings (no walks and four Ks). He pitched in nine games (six starts) with the Padres in 2005, going 0-5 with a 9.10 ERA (30 1/2 innings, 40 hits, 35 runs, 30 earned, 13 walks, 17 Ks and seven homers). He has a career record of 21-33 with a 5.04 ERA in 100 games (78 starts). In 2004 with Houston, posted a 10-14 record with a 3.68 ERA in 33 games (32 starts).

In that ballpark - not too fu<king shabby.

This guy might have a bit of upside. But right now that's not even what counts. We just need a warm body to start the game. Hopefully we can outpound them.

Redding was lined up to pitch on Friday for Columbus. His start here will be the first time Stottlemyre will have seen him pitch. Torre said he did not know anything about Redding "other than he has a pretty good arm."

:bigangry: Are you surprised Joe has no idea or Stott? They're only Pro Coaches getting paid millions to a job 3 hours a nite... :wall:

Too funny. This team is such a f*cking mess. I should be happy, especially after what happened tonight, but Wang has really screwed us over by getting hurt. Though I can't hate on him since he did a fine job while he was here. I'll hate on those bitches RJ, Pussina, and Soft Serve Carl instead. Those three have really f*cked us. Redding pitching wouldn't be a big deal if we could trust those three c*cksuckers.

But Tom Seaver was NL trash. You don't want that. By golly didn't he pitch for the Yankees or was it the other NL trash Doc Gooden or maybe both.

The Yankees are going to need to score 8 runs to have a shot.

…maybe Redding will be our savior, everyone who was supposed to be lights out has sucked for us royally! maybe, just maybe it will be the reverse in this situation. I guess we'll just wait and see. :dunno:

redding was praised by nolan ryan back in the minors seasons ago with ryans minor league team. he was supposed to be the 3rd guy to combine with roy oswalt and wade miller to make the astros big three. clearly this wasn't the case based on performance. redding is a lifelong yankee fan, so maybe some of his potential is revealed in his new setting. we can hope/
