I'm not gonna bash MM's boy and go VC calling him Sour Melk and a shitty player and all...

But the man is 20 years old, in the freaking majors, the Yankees no-less! Like Henn, he has to be overwhelmed, he should be in AAA right now, most would agree...Give him a shot in 06' to man down CF...

As for 05' CFer... :dunno: Matsui in CF? A trade for a LF??

Absolutely should only be at Columbus. There's plenty of fish in the sea for next year. We need to go out and get someone for now.

 To be honest though, I was way too optimistic with him...At least Cano had some seasoning in the minors...I was expecting way too much out of Melky, I wanted Cano-type production :bag:

Before the season, I wanted Matsui in CF and figured we could trade for a corner OFer as 1-year hold down. Wanted Bernie DHing and Giambi destroyed in a car bomb (I'll take that back).

Well to be fair, Cano struggled really badly when he first came up too. Melky is over his head, but remember that Cano was lost his first couple of weeks as well.

But Cano had a 1/2 year at Columbus last year and started there this year. It's unreasonable to think Melky could make that jump.

The guy pretty much just finished puberty and high school and is playing for the Yankees. This isn't a Devil Ray bullsh*t thing, the guy has to be crippled with pressure. Everyone expecting him to take over Bernie right now, be the man in CF, etc. etc.

The old men, MM and me, called it right. Now leave the kid alone. At least he has range in CF.

I know, there's no way he should have even been called up yet, but you hope for the best. We all knew there was a big chance he'd be overmatched. He should play the rest of the year in Columbus, not just play there 10 games like he did.

As long as the Yankees win there will be no pressure on him. the problem is you can't keep on scoring 8-10 runs a game and with the SP being the way it is that's what the Yankees will keep on needing.

The Rally Rondell is the spark this team needs. We'll be an unstoppable force with him in pinstripes.

Mark my words: If Melky is sent down, he will never be seen in pinstripes again. He's got two weeks to make it as a Yankee, fair or not.

Do you remember jumping up my ass when I suggested Jermain Dye? Everybody wanted Magglio or something stupid and I tried to be the voice of reason. It could have been Dye in any of the 3 outfield spots(depending on his knee) Matsui in Center or Left and Sheff in Right or Left with Bernie DHing full time. I'll let somebody else look up the stats. They are Damn solid. :peace:

I have a feeling that Melky will do something very special in the remaining games with the Red Sox this weekend....Just got that feeling.
