Rotation ideas...

Most have been discussed. Obviously everything has changed now, so I figured I'd throw some names out there.

These are guys I figure we can get without emptying out the system:

Leiter
Chacon
Lieber

Give me 2 of the 3 them, and we'll stay afloat.

Let Pavano, Brown, Wright and 2 of those three fight it out for the last 3 spots. It will give us 5 chances to fill 3 spots, and it won't cost all of our talent.

why would the Phillies trade Lieber?

Might have to take a chance on Leiter.

why would the Phillies trade Lieber?

8-8 5.09

They would probably love to get from under his contract.

Damn, Lieber started off GREAT, remember, he pitches in a f*cking band box there, I'd take him back in a heartbeat! He's presure tested as well!

I'd agree Moomoo. But what are you willing to pay?

I'll be Beane (give me a second. I need to get a co<k in my mouth so this is realistic.).

OK. Shoot me an offer.

Duncan, Henn and Proctor. Just lost Bradford, Proctor's another hard throwing righty for the bullpen. Henn could develop to be a real good pitcher or a solid lefty out of the pen, and Duncan could be their 1B of the future.

I like the way you're thinking MM. A guy like Moyer is probably available (because he sucks obviously, but he would be obtainable).

I'd trade Henn for Ron Villone.

Villone can start or relieve. Batters hitting a paltry .225 against him and he's averaging over a strikeout an inning with good control and a 2.52 era. He'd be an ideal spot starter NOW and totally solidify our middle inning relief once the starters are healthy. With Villone in the pen, no more worries if a starter gets knocked out in the 5th.

Plus he's a bulldog. Already worked 35 innings  with only 1 HR allowed.

He comes from Englewood NJ so prolly grew up a Yankee fan and proud to wear the pinstripes, unlike most of our quiche eating mercenaries. :smirk:

At 6'3" and 245, he has that bad ass biker look that intimidates opposing batters. We need more of that blue collar meat n' potatoes type here, who ain't afraid to pound it inside or mix it up in a rumble . ;)

Almost forgot to mention: he's a lefty and doesn't make much $$$ (under 2 mil).

Henn has upside but we live for TODAY and today is not Henn's. :chop:

I don't think we'd have to give up Henn to get Villone, but he's another decent option.

Henn's trade value isn't what it used to be after 3 straight disasterous outings. :peace:

He's still only 24 though. He was another guy that never should have been up here.

Agreed. It's a crap shoot when you bring a young guy to the majors from AA like Henn and Melky. Personally, I wouldn't do it. I prefer to season them and then bring them up when they're ready. Oh well. :no1:

I woildn't be surprised if you had to give up more then Henn to get him. Alot of teams are looking for bullpen help, and the market is thin.

I'd say bring in all the obtainable fu<kbags we can (Leiter, Chacon, Lieber) and whomever can't cut it in the rotation goes out to the pen for a shot.
