He backed "Vic-tory" Zambrano the whole time. Now he might be your second or third best pitcher. He walks a lot of batters, get's into a lot of jams, and averages just 6 innings per game...but he's got a 3.58 ERA. That's not great (especially in the NL), but something has to be said for that. Polish Petey also said that Beltran's numbers would look like .280/23 homeruns. You all ridiculed him when he said it. Well, the Golden Boy is at .266 with 10 homeruns. He'd have to get hot to be able to reach the very numbers that you thought were so far beneath him. People just see the ability and expect career highs to be the norm. He's not gonna hit .307/38 HR/108 RBI/42 SB. He never even did those numbers in the same season. Just like Alex Rodriguez isn't .358/57 HR/147 RBI/46 SB. And if you look at his career, his batting average has always fluctuated. 1998 - .276 1999 - .293 2000 - .247 2001 - .306 2002 - .273 2003 - .307 2004 - .266 Not a great hitter. I expected more of him than Peter, but even I was telling you that you've overrated him. Now, for all the sh*t that you give the kid, where is his credit? Where is the, "Damn Pete, we called you crazy but you've been right so far." |

He usually picks it up in the 2nd half, and there is always the New York factor to consider. I see a MONSTER year next year. So basically, I give him 2 years, if he doesnt pick it up next year then he will be a flop in my book |

 Peter attributes Zambrano's faults to bad luck and nothing more, so why can't we say his predictions coming true were just luck? |

at the begining i said he wasnt pitching well but he shouldnt be pitching that bad. He was walking and hitting guys all over, but the hits were cheap, that is what was unlucky. Now he isnt walking guys and the cheap hits arent comming anyymore (law of averages) and you see the result. I will call luck when i see it, if it wasnt for luck beltran would be hitting below .230 i have never seen a guy hit more groundballs through the hole in my life. |

The more you say sh*t like that the less I will listen to you. You lose credibility with stupidity like that. If your boy Burnitz was hitting balls through the hole like that, you wouldn't be calling it pure dumb luck. |

yes i would, especially if they werent hit hard. If beltran was hitting his balls hard and it was going right at someone i would not get on him one bit. |

I still don't like Zambrano and probably never will. Beltran has underproduced, but I didn't expect him to be that great this year because he was leaving Houston's fantastic lineup for our not so good one. He's been injured most of the year, but is still one of our best hitters, and will surely end up being our best one. He's an investment in the future and definitely a good one. Peter get's no props because he's Peter. If he gets something wrong, it's because he's not smart. If he gets something right, it's purely accidental. |

No, you were right on ONE thing and suddenly you think your a f*cking sage, get over it. Zambrano is a #3 pitcher at best and Beltran is heating up. You were wrong! So just sit there and continue in your wrongness! |

We all knew that Beltran would not put up monster numbers....the guy is a .280ish 25ish and 95ish guy , above average glove in the outfield. Nothing more nothing less! |

While it's silly to say he sucks and is terrible it is legit to say he is overrated when it comes to the contract that he did get. I wouldn't mind him in CF for my team, just not at the rate of money he's gettin' though. :puke: |

The Eunuchs had to overpay because of the past follies of Fred and Jeff Tampon. If they ever reach respectability they won’t have to overpay. |
