Signing Pavano was a no brainer. Alot of other teams (including Boston) were all over him, so we can't blame Cashman for him. He just turned out to be a soft l. :no1: He can still turn it around this year - and he might.
Pavano is a gutless Soft L, not a chance that loser turns it around. He's this year's Javy Vazquez. The guy was always a loser in the NL, except for one year, and he's going to be a loser in the AL for at least 4 years. After him, I'm done with pitchers from the NL, I don't care if they're supposed to be good, young pitchers, like Burnett, I really want no part of these guys on the Yankees any more.
That loser beat us in the series...and don't tell me it's because we didn't have the bats. :furious2:
ZACH "MOTHER f*cking" GUNKEE beat the Yankees. Stop it, please.
That was this year...get your head on straight.

I know that. My point is that this team, this mighty-mighty offense has been beaten by a number of scrotom dirts. Runelvys Hernadez (stop making me say this f*cking name) beat the Yankees. So don't tell me sh*t about Pavano in the 2003 World Series. Shutting down a team that couldn't hit w/ RISP is not an accomplishment. That loser was 12-13 in 2003. That loser had a career 57-58 record before coming here. That loser has only had 2 seasons where his ERA was under 4.00 and in one of them, he only made 15 starts. He's no more special than any of the other nothings who have beaten this overrated offense. And while BC and I were crying about hitting w/ RISP all season, Happy Boys like you were telling us to shut up.
Josh Beckett sure has gone on to do great things (besides Leeann Tweeden) since dominating this vaunted offense. :please:

Yes, he would. Because Pedro is a dirtbag and after all he's done, he doesn't deserve to wear the sacred pinstriped uniform.

You and Strider need to wake up. It was either Johnson and Pavano or Pedro and Pavano, not Johnson and Pedro. Wasn't happening and you know that. If George was going to spend the cash then he could have gotten Beltran.

I love when people say Pedro doesn't deserve to wear pinstripes. Give me a damn break, the Yankees are about winning, and Pedro certainly fits that bill, while that little jackass, Soft Serve Carl, has only been a LOSER for his whole career.

Cuz we were, you smiling optimist. You were the leader of the pack, telling us to quit bitching. Telling us it'll come around. Guess what, the offense still sucks ass w/ RISP. These a-holes still leave too many runners on. This is a sporadic stat-padding offense. DON'T PRETEND TO HAVE BEEN ON THE FRONTLINES. You weren't saying it when we started. Most of ya'll didn't pick up till it screwed them in the post season.

I don't recall telling you to be quiet. I tell BC to shut up when he rants for 3 hours...lack of clutch has been a problem for years.

Dammit, I explained that sh*t like 3 posts back. I know what the Yankees DID. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about what I (we) think they SHOULD have done.
Pavano - $10M + Wright - $7M ----------------- $17M
vs.
Martinez - $13
And I even said that since we didn't know Wang would come up and pitch well, we'd have needed a 5th starter. The $4M saved from Pedro over Wright/Pavano, you use that to get you a so-so starter. Maybe even go over and spend a little extra for something decent. I'd rather spend $17-19M on Pedro and "something" than $17M on Pavano & Wright.

Add to this: "something decent" could have been Jon Lieber. He's struggled recently, but I'm not using retrospect. I'm talking about back then. Coming off his season, it would have been better to get him back at $7-8M than squander anything on Wright.

OK, but you get my point. Pedro + someone would have been better than Pavano + Wright. And it wouldn't have cost more (much) more. And we'd have gotten more.

Should've swept them awards last year.
And we need a new category. "Best Group". Da Clique needs a team trophy.
