What the f*ck is all this bullsh*t I'm hearing from the ignorant media and the even dumber fans? I can't count how many callers, hosts, and "experts" have said that he's done and Father Time has caught up to him. He's hitting .281 with 7 homeruns. Have these people ever looked at the man's career stats? He's not a career .340 hitter. Damn, .281 from a career .270 hitter = "done". Defensively, his errors are down this season. What the f*ck are they talking about?

I don't get it either, we're seeing the SAME Posada we always have! Have they now just realize he's been some what overrated?!?!? You know ohw I feel about Posada, he's a good player, but HAS NEVER BEEN GREAT, IMO. HIs defense has gotten some what better, but he's never really been Mr. Clutch in a big spot and has always been streaky as hell at the plate.

MSG was saying how there is a rumour in the clubhouse that RJ doesn't like how Jorge catches and Flash will catch him more often from now on.

I like Posada more than most on this board, and i like that his average has gone up, but his walks, on base pct, and power numbers(doubles, homeruns, slg%) are all down. He's also throwing out only about 25% this year compared to almost 30% most of the last bunch of years. I agree with you that its stupid to think he's "done". The guys got plenty left offensively, especially if he becomes a DH.

What a shocker!

I'm no fan of Mel either but Jorge isn't helping matters out there with these pitchers. It's no secret the only 3 wins this team has on the road trip were all games caught by Flaherty.

They said that either on ESPN or MSG (Johnson preferring Flaherty).

I don't like Flash throwing out runners (don't know the stats, but it seems like...) but he calls a good game, blocks the plate, and I do like him as a hitter. I know his average is sh*t, but I like his swing and I'd trust him to get a fly ball more than I would Piss Hands. And I know that Posada has some great runner at 3B stat this year. Not saying he's better than Posada (I know Bleed would probably think that's what I'm getting at), I'm just highlighting his positives.

The problem with Posada isn't his number, it's when he gets those numbers. He doesn't get big hits in the clutch. Bases loaded, close game, you can almost guarantee a strikeout or double play. Same situation with the Yankees up by 5 runs and he lashes a double down the line.

Nobody ever said he was done. Some people use his age as an excuse for his sub-par seasons the last 2 years, but most don't feel he's done.

And Strider, it's still early and he's a catcher. There's like 110 games left, that .280 average will be down to .260-.270 by the end of the year and I will be shocked if he gets over 20 HR's and 75 RBI. Catchers wear down.

Its hard to tell from the numbers how well Flaherty throws out baserunners. He's been horrible this year, and wasn't great last year, but he's had really good years pretty recently. Whatever though; those numbers always jump around. Flaherty imo the best backup we've had since Posada and Girrardi were backups.

The team era is actually lower with Posada catching. Not saying he's Mike Matheny or anything, but there is no evidence that he calls a bad game. RJ is the only person i can ever remember saying he doesn't call a good game.

I'm not talking about people here. I'm talking about WFAN and ESPN.

Who has been saying that longer than me? I know. I don't like the dude. My problem is people acting like he is or was such a superstar that .281/7 HR/28 RBI is shocking. Like its some drastic dropoff. The RBI total is down and he's behind on the homeruns, but its not as if we expect 40 and 130 from him. ESPN.com has him on pace for 19 homeruns and 74 RBI. That isn't that much of a dropoff and a 2 week hotstreak (he hits 3 homeruns and drives in 12) can change all those projections. We know he's streaky as f*ck as if a stat padder. But even with that, the stats were never that good to begin with. Certainly not so "amazing" that people should shake their heads at .281 and 7.

RJ needs to shut the f*ck up and pitch instead of acting like a soft bitch!
