Call Beane, tell him he can take 2 of the 3: Cano/Wang/Duncan

Send us Zito.

Kill me if you want, but we need to shake things up.

I'm not going to kill you for it. It's your opinion. I certainly don't agree with it though.

You know what dude - I've disagreed with alot of sh*t you've said over the years, but I've always disagreed with you respectfully. I've even defended you a number of times.

And whenever you disagree with me, you do it like that. "Stupidity"

Fu<k you man. Seriously.

IMO, there's nothing this team can do.
After the season dump all the dead weight, sign some young speedy guys for the top of the lineup & get another starter who isn't a washed up piece of sh!t.
If it takes a year or two to straighten this out i don't mind, just get younger, faster & more aggressive players.
I'm tired of this old fake it till we make attitude!
Plus Joe has got to go, i hate saying that, really i do but changes need to start from the top, and that would send the biggest message of all.

Nice.

That's the reason I replied to you in the manner I did. I could never be a dick to you, even if I don't agree with your idea one iota.

I'd add Rivera to that list, but you know I agree on the idea.

I think YF03 is just pissed about what's going on. I think your trade is ridiculous, but you know you're my dude. YF is a good guy too. He's just upset and doesn't have the patience to deal with something he doesn't agree with.

I don't wanna repeat myself more, so I might go dig up what I said about Zito a few days ago as a more complete response to this.

LT, Why wait til the end of the season???

IMHO, The Season's already over!
=we are not going to win the World Series and that's all that counts!

If you can make any trades that offload old "superstars" and fills our needs, then just do it. We need to get younger and faster, plus fundamentally more sound.

I would even trade RJ to the highest bidder, even Boston. Who cares if they win? We won't be competitive for two or three years and by then RJ will be retired.

I'm with YB. It needs to start soon. That way you stockpile prospects and younger players now, keep some of them for next season, and flip some of them for young veterans who fill needs in trades over the offseason. If you wait until the offseason, there's less flexibility, and less chips to work with.

That would be great, but no team is dumb enough to take our over the hill, overpaid, so called stars (RJ, Giambi, etc)

I agree with LT. We wait until the off season when $40M is wiped off "the cap" and we've got room to manuever. There'll be free agents out there who can help. If you can trade the trash, then go ahead. But I don't know what you can get for them. And outside of Sheff and Game Face, the better players on this team can't be moved. I think we wait it out and then go to work in the off-season. There isn't much we can do now anyway.

As for the deal, I don't have any trust of Zito. He's not shown any consistency since '02.

Hey - I know Zito isn't a slam dunk. But Wang and Cano aren't either.

BTW - Zito had another good start the other day.

April 6.60
May 3.49
June 2.08

I think he's worth the risk.

Do what the Mets did a few years ago. Maybe we can get a Victor Diaz-type for someone.

Exactamundo!

The Mets dumped everyone that year. They got guys like Royce Ring (being given a chance now) for Alomar, and Victor Diaz (obviously a good hitter) for Burnitz, two guys they desperately wanted to move.

Plus in recent years they have moved middle relievers like Turk Wendell and David Weathers. You just move them for the sake of getting anything for them, plus it opens a spot in the pen for a younger guy, who then gets the chance to learn on the fly how to pitch in the majors.

If you move guys like that, plus maybe even a Sheffield to a team who is a big bat away from being a legit title contender, you have young guys to work with in deals in the offseason, plus the $40 million or so "cap room" Strider referred to. You have a lot more possibilities to work with.

Why would anyone want Brown? His stats are ugly and he makes a lot.

He doesn't make that much considering it's the last year of his contract. The Braves need a pitcher. They have a dogfight in the NL East. Brown would go for it because it gets him even closer to home.
