I've always heard that. I clench my jaw everytime I hear it. Always thought it was a load of bullsh*t. Mostly, I had a problem with the wording and the stupidity of how it sounds. Who the f*ck doesn't know how to win? Truck driver Earl from Whyoming who weighs 350 lbs. and whose favorite hobby is drinking cheap beer till he falls asleep on plastic covered couch and pisses on himself, knows how to win. If you wanna say the guy is clutch, then say that. What the f*ck is that "Knows how to win" bullsh*t? Would he "know how to win" if he had been drafted by the Pirates? Well, I guess he wouldn't. For one, the Pirates don't know how to win. And two, I doubt he'd have been able to teach them how to win. 2005 Yankees: Since the team is struggling and Mr. Jeter is so ticked (he threw down his cup of water in disgust and we could see the "grr" in his face), why doesn't he teach the Yankees how to win? Obviously, he knows. Share the knowledge Mr. Jeter, the team needs it. Could it be that (1) it was a stupid statement from the start and (2) these teams never won because of him? And I hope people disagree with me. |

I don't even want to hear about Jeter right now. His play the last 3 weeks has pissed me off. He was hitting .330, now he's down to .280 something, his play during this poor stretch of games that has put us back under .500 has been despicable and unacceptable from the team captain. |

But no, Brother 03. He knows how to win. I mean, he didn't just all of a sudden forget how to win. Come on now. |

We're not losing games. We can't lose this much with Captain at the wheel. This is all just a bad dream. |

By the way I got your point, i just find it funny that we're only playing as good as Juan Castro and the Pittsburg Pirates :no1: Anyway i think the reasoning behind the "knows how to win" stuff is Jeter's intelligence on the Field. I know he made a baserunning error last night, but that happens what, once a year? He's not gonna try to steal 3rd with two outs in the late innings like Roger Cedeno used to. He never throws to the wrong base, and he never comes out of his game to try to do too much. He's a good situational player. My beef is he is obviously more valuable to a team when he's hitting .315 with a .390 obp on top of all that stuff...THATS what people don't talk about. He's been a singles hitter all year and he's still only batting .290. I won't kill him because nobody is hitting right now, but he needs to pick up the play just like everyone else. |
